Oil feed line filter question

Oil feed line filter question

I just sent out my OG FP green to get rebuilt and converted to a newer green. I am feeding off the oil filter housing without an inline filter. Do you all run a filter or no? Inspection showed debris getting into the bearings and I would think the oil filter would catch anything that can damage the turbo. Please advise me on what to do.

I would add a filter, FP makes a a line with a filter or you can roll your own.
Its one of those things where it shouldn't be needed really but a little added safety is always nice.

Use the FP line with inline filter.

Thanks , I wasn’t sure because they’ve told me that it could restrict flow if something got in it. What’s weird is the oem filter had nothing in it but the turbo itself has bearing damage.

Well you're supposed to clean or replace the little filter in the turbo line every oil change. Which would prevent it from clogging.

The turbo doesn't need much to get hurt. The factory filter doesn't catch everything.
