Great Mitsu Service Dept Experience

Called my service rep today about my clutch slipping in my EVO. Told him it is slipping and grinds going into second. He asked me how many miles were on the car. I told him under 10K. He said "NO problem, I will order your clutch set up right now can you bring me the car on wed ?" I said.. "um... yeah thats it? "

He said ..."sure why not its covered until 12K anyway. We will also look at your tranny to see if you have any damage there since I know you called last week and told me 2nd gear was grinding."

For all the bad warranty issues I've read on here I can honestly say I have not had one bad issue with my service dept.

be skeptical, but who knows, maybe it will be covered......i had some warranty work done that i thought was going to be a hassle and they didn't even bring up my mods AT ALL.......i think all the mitsu bashing has given the service dept a worse rep than they deserve. maybe they're not the best for warranty, but they can surprise you sometimes

IMO, Leave your wallet at home before you hit the Mits dealer. Don't sign anything until you read the detail.

The clutch will be covered but you will have to pay for the clutch disk. It is not covered! I would get a different one that stock to replace it check out the RMR 6 puck replacement.

or give Road Race Engineering a call, they offer the Exedey discs as an upgrade to the ACT set ups they carry and I'm sure they would sell you the disc alone, nice unit, I run it with my ACT pressure plate and like it a lot, just another option if it comes down to this.

um WRONG... If you read your warranty book, page 5 second colum. " THE FOLLOWING FACTORY INSTALLED ITEMS ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12000 MILES, WHICH EVER OCCURS FIRST( EXCLUDING NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR)
BRAKES ( PADS, LININGS, SHOES)
WIPER BLADES
CLUTCH DISC

I just got off the phone with my service rep and he told me that YES the clutch DISC is covered to 12K miles but Mitsu policy is to replace the whole assy and that he ordered it all for me and that all is covered under warranty.

I'm sorry that some of you guys are dealing with crappy dealerships, but mine has been awesome. Matter of fact they helped me do a couple of my mods and the service rep has called me a couple times to get info on modding his EVO. I guess its a case by case basis.

i think it definitely is on a case by case basis, because i believe the people on here who have alot of trouble with the dealers, but I can honestly say that my dealership has been as good as possible... they installed my turbo timer and catback and they haven't ever had any problems with doing things under waranty.

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Unfortunately, at least based on the tone of posts, a lot of people have a vinegar personality. They reap what they sow and then complain about what they harvested. Our service guys go way out of their way for the nice customers and the sour ****** get shut down immediately.

Is this the dealer in Charleston? That is great news if they are so easy to work with. I talk w/ the sales manager from time to time, but have not had any experience w/ the service department yet. (except for an oil filter for the first oil change last week )
