2.3 Stroker and BC 272 cams?
2.3 Stroker and BC 272 cams?
Did anyone ever install BC 272 cams for 2.3 Stroker? Yes I know the best idea is to go with s2 or R2 cams. But I am doing a daily driver 2.3 stroker from all spare parts that I collected in shop within years. I found brand new Bc 272 cams that I have and wondering if its a good idea with 2.3 stroker. I have never used those cams and I was always installing R2 or s2 with strokers. Thanks for help!!!
You'd have to check the specs, but I assume they are similar to the kelford 272s or the S2s.
If you already have them and the idea is to build with what you have, send it.
Sure they might not be optimized for the stroker but I'm sure it will be better than stock cams.

I think they are similar to s1 cams if I am not mistaken. I found some old forums that people did not liked them ( because they did not made good power) but like you said since I have them I think I will use them. I can always change them for something bigger down the road.
Thanks for the reply. Here is the link for them, I found them on brain crower website. https://store.briancrower.com/produc...ant=1609969219

It would be a cool back to back to see how relatively small cam profile changes effect the performance of the motor.
If you are doing your own work, there is pretty minimal issue to swapping them out later so you might as well see what happens. I doubt you'll be able to sell them especially given how popular the GSC stuff is on these cars.
Yea, it appears they are a tad smaller and a tad less duration than the S1s. You'll just be less than optimal especially higher in the RPM range as the engine is trying to move more air.

I wouldn't put BC272's in my worst enemies car.
Do not waste your time, find a good used set for $300 of something else and don't look back. Even a Comp or HKS 272 would be better

I was reading here and there that they are not great and people has issues making power. I have never used them in the past. Are they that horrible?

Yea. They are really that horrible. It would be a disservice to your engine to use them. Find some used GSC S2/Cosworth M2/HKS or Kelford 272s
