Lancer CK to Evo VI Conversion
Lancer CK to Evo VI Conversion
Hello Guys,
Im planning to Convert my 1998 Lancer CK2 to a Evo VI. Both Visually and Mechanically. I have already bought the parts along with a CP9A Back Cut.
I have seen some people just replace the rear floor pan, removing it from original spot welds, (Some do it without removing the rear shock towers). And welding it back together. Whereas some guys just replace the complete rear end cut.
Meantime i have seen this video of converting a lancer into a Evo IX, where he replaces the complete back cut. But he removes the back cut entirely from oem panel joints ( obviously he has to cut the outer skin, what I’m saying are the inner panels, He slides off the old back cut and slides in the CT9A back cut just like plug and play). (https://youtu.be/NV9nqtDx9GE?si=dWRClhH2OqXkKG08).
What I’m curios about is whether if this same process can be followed on the Lancer CK chassis (CK/CP9A). Rather than cutting the back at a random place. If it can be separated from oem joints, the work will be much neater and precise.
Please advise me on this.
thank you.
