Evo, Lancer Windshield
Evo, Lancer Windshield
For the Evo owners that have a Lancer windshield in their cars, what did you do about a rear view mirrior? I have an 03 Evo and I need a new windeshield ASAP and the Evo ones are not alalible and I know the Lancer ones will fit but the rear mirrior clip is different. I can get a lancer windshiled for $150. I I want that one but I'm worried about the rear mirrior.
I got a crack and my insurance covered it. I told the company that it was for an Evo and that it was a little different. When the installer came to my house, he brought the rearview piece seperately and just glued it on with some crazy *** quick drying special German glue (that's what the guy said
). I have pics somewhere, but can't find them...

Yeah I'm not puting another Evo Windshield on the car because they just crack way to damn easy. I was thinking that I could just use some super glue or somthing.
So your Evo mirrior was glued on to the other lancer clip?????

When I replaced mine they just removed the mirror mounting bracket from the stock windshield and glued it on to the new Lancer windshield, of course they removed the bracket from the new window before. I would never drive with a Lancer mirror

Is the Evo W/S 4.7mm total thickness and Lancer 5.0mm? Or is Evo thinner than 4.7?
4.7mm is pretty much the standard W/S thickness: 2.0 glass +0.7 Vinyl + 2.0 glass although some cars use a 2.3 outer glass (to get 5.0) which is actually cheaper because they break less 2.3 glass than 2.0 during mfg.
