Spec-C v. MR
Well, I guess it is like the RS since it basically has been trimmed of any unnecessary weight, including creature comforts, sound deadening, etc to be a track tool.
But, I think a more accurate description would be it's like the Evo MR RS (instead of the USDM RS which is a stripped GSR), since it has a multitude of performance enhancements over a stock STi.

well if the US gets a spec C......
it will probly be closer to a spec c type 25 in the UK....
350 hp...356 tq.....and the same badass suspension
but still the same ****ty tires compared to the a046's
the type 25 wiped the 2.0 spec c with a dirty rag in the UK...

Yup, there's no replacement for displacement...
But, the question is at what RPM is the max bhp and torque realized?
Evo's historically have a more usable power curve and peak bhp/torque at lower RPMs... just look at the numbers I posted for the FQ-300 and the Spec-C.
Maybe in the dyno wars the Spec-C can claim victory, but it's the track that counts
.
Whatever the case, it'll be a great show down.

Hey man, 4 pages of posts isn't endless...
All the specs we have, at least confirmed are as follows...
1. JDM MR RS (per SPEED article) - 285bhp @ 6500rpm and 295lb-ft of torque @ 3500rpm
2. UK Evo FQ-330 - 330bhp @ 6800rpm, 315lb-ft of torque @ 5000rpm
3. UK Evo MR FQ-320 - 326.1bhp @ 6600rpm, 305lb-ft torque @ 6600rpm
4. UK Evo MR FQ-340 - 342bhp @ 6843rpm, 309lb-ft torque @ 5000rpm
And here's two web sites to wet you wistle for the new MR - the UK Mitsu Site and the official Japanese MR release:
http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/evolution/
http://www.nmd.com.au/news2/news_detail.cfm?ID=1131
It's likely the US MR will be in the 300bhp range, maybe higher for bragging rights against the STi. Torque will likely the same as the MR tested in SPEED.
Hope this helps
