It matches the interior very nicely, especially with the black chrome finish.
Got any pics? Is there a gap between the knob and the shift boot?

Here's a picture of the RAZO RA25 340g weighted shift knob. Works great with my Perrin short shifter. Sorry, it's not a close-up.

dude, your pedals are totally crooked in that picture.

marksae,

My setup looks exactly like syrihl's 'cept my pedals are straight and I ain't got no crazyfunky audio setup like he does.
I'm using a Megan racing short shifter, and there's no gap b/t the knob and the shift boot. Well, there is a gap, but only if you pull down on the boot. The boot will hold itself up on its own giving a gapless appearance (with the short shifter installed).

Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. The shoft shifter, as I'm sure you know, will make the shifts shorter as well as stiffer (by decreasing the amount of travel you will increase the amount of force nessecary to complete the shift). The counter weighted knob offsets this stiffnest by providing momentum to the shift. Without the shift knob the shifts with the SS would simply be too stiff for my taste.

When comparing my setup to Syrihl's (Perrin + bushings vs. Megan Racing), his shifts are shorter by less than an inch maybe--I forget the exact measurements. But the overall feel of the shifts are equivalent. Conclusion: Perrin's is shorter and better constructed, but the bang for the buck factor of the Megan Racing SS can't be beat.

MOMO Shot CF knobs are the best Knob that I've used. It's 100% aluminum stock with CF cover on top.

it's heavy, it makes it shift about 80% easier on any manual car.

Everytime I get a manual car I got this, except for this time. I got the Razo Ra25. It's cheap, ($35 shipped at sounddomain.com.)

The Voodoo shift knobs I sell exclusively for the evo are exactly what you are looking for. They are a perfect fit, no gap. They screw right on the stock threads. I have also verified they work on B&M and Perrin Short shifters. I have the weights listed as well. I'll go ahead and post them here.

Aluminum Voodoo knob: 173 grams
Titanium Voodoo knob: 282 grams

They come in several different finishes. All knobs are SOLID aluminum or titanium.

Spun Aluminum
Pearl Aluminum (Clear Powdercoated)
Polished Aluminum
Black Powdercoated - smooth or textured

Polished Titanium (weighs twice as much as aluminum)

Also the Polished Titanium can be brushed with some steel wool for a more spun finish. Instructions are on the site.

Please let me know if you need anymore info.

Just click on the link below to see pictures and order.

If you want to shift faster with ease, get something around 350~ 500 grams.

That's my advice.

just the simple physics of leverage.

Thumbs up Razo Shift Knob... pics!!

Alright, I finally got around to uploading some pics I took of the Razo shiftknob that I got from Lancershop...

I've driven with it installed for a couple of weeks now, and I really like it a lot. Some things to consider:
1. Nice, solid feel
2. Easy install, no gap between the knob and boot
3. Metal portion can get hot in the sun, but with the leather on top it's not too bad
4. It is taller than the stock shiftknob, which does the following:
a. makes the throws longer
b. puts the shifter closer to the steering wheel
c. still not tall enough to interfere with the relocated Alpine

As I said, I like it ... IMO the combination of heavier shift knob and slightly longer throws is actually helping me to shift cleaner (especially the 1-2 shift).

l8r)

edit: ... grr they won't let me upload the same pic twice, and I'm not sure how to link to the rest. If you want to see more, check my thread at: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=84010

That shift knob looks tight! It matches our interior really well. I want one now! Which version of the Razo shift knob did you get? From optauto.com, there are two versions of that shift knob available. One is 170 grams, the other is 340 grams.

Is there a short version of that knob? There's a long and short version of that knob here:

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...3201&last=3201

EDIT:
I just found more info about that knob here:
http://hsg01.vehicle.ad.jp/products/...Category_E.php

There are long and short versions of the GT Advance knob.
