Are you sure that's how the roadside assistance works? I thought it was nationwide. I used it when I was in Michigan City, IN and I bought by car in the south suburbs of Chicago. They asked about my mileage, but they didn't ask about my original dealer.

Maybe you need to be within 50 miles of ANY dealer. .

lol i think the windows on the evo are thinner than on normal cars so i wouldn't recommend doing that..

seriously man, just call some emergency roadside service or a local mitsubishi dealer. hell they may take some money from ya but it's better than breaking something and having to have that fixed..meaning more time away from your car. good luck.

Damn...if there isn't a market for that Lexus driver recognition fingerprint thing...someone's gotta come out with an aftermarket lock deal like that. Noone has come out with a keyless system like that yet, and when they do (and I don't mean punch-in-a-code keyless; I mean true recognize-your-fingerprint handles) every tuner ride in the country is going to have it or be behind.

The Lexus doesn't recognize your fingerprint, it senses your key that you have on you. The key carries a transmitter that tells the system to unlock the doors when the door handle is lifted. Mercedes Benz uses the same technology. As for the guy that got locked out, I would just call the roadside thing and see if they come out without asking where the car was purchased.

You didn't hear this from me.

There is a secret button underneath your driver seat. It's made from the factory to prevent technitians from locking the car while the car's still running.

it pops all the doors open, then shuts the motor off, when it's on while the door is locked.

That button is located 3 inch from the first seam where the driver side door meets the side skirt.

you have to really jam the bottom part, since that particular part is made out of harden plastic.

Do you follow?

I did the same thing and called and they did it for free. You can be anywhere in the USA and will provide the service for free.

I don't believe this is correct. Did you try calling the number, or are you just guessing that they wouldn't be able to help.

I think the roadside assistance reads that they will tow your car up to 50 miles (to the nearest dealership) from any place in the US. They will come out to your car no matter where in the US you live. You don't have to be within 50 miles of the placeof purchase.

I got it. I was like this guy must be on crack or just really stupid. I am glad it was a joke.

Broke my window too. No pop-a-lock guys near me out in the sticks, so I said **** it, and smashed the window; the glass went everywhere.
