Stereo Re-Location kit!

OK OK, I have searched and searched. Some of you say that the part number for the sereo re-location kit is MZ598263EX, when refernce that at mitsubishiparts.com is come up as a OEM gauge pod and makes no mention of a re-location kit. Can some of you help me out and post a link directly to the kit its self? I also called my dealer and gave them the part number and said that is a CD player install kit and it costs 110.00 bucks. Please help

Thanks

The so-called "Stereo Relocation kit" is the DIN-size OEM gauge pot surround. Make sure it comes with the two extenders and the four long screws.

The CD Player instal kit is correct - but if you shop it you should be able to find a better price. The dealer I purchased mine from charged me about $45.00 plus tax (if I'm remembering correctly).

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago from Mitsubishiparts.net and the price was $50.74 before shipping. Local dealer quoted me over $80 for the same part. That is the right one if you plan on moving the stock radio down.

To quote myself:

"Two useful part numbers and their distinction:

MZ598263EX - CD Changer Install kit (converts lower tray to DIN panel, comes with rails to accomodate stock radio)

MR626799 (black) - Lower DIN panel (same panel as above, but WITHOUT the rails ... much cheaper and works with aftermarket radios ... worked great with my Alpine )"

I got the Lower DIN panel for ~$18 from my dealer. If your dealer is quoting $110 for the relocation kit, then they are trying to rip you off, that is way too high.

This is what mitsu parts.com said in an email to me: "#MR626799 is the lower part of the center portion of your dash. We are
unsure if this lower dash panel is what you are looking for. When you
refer to the peace as a "relocation kit" are you looking for a
"installation kit"?
#MZ598246EX brown
#MZ598263EX black
#MZ598248EX gray

The before listed numbers are the install kits for a 6-disc in-dash
CD-player. We would need to know which color."

Is this what I should order?

techause:

1. If you are relocating the stock stereo, then you get: MZ598263EX

2. If you are installing an aftermarket stereo (Alpine, Kenwood, etc.) then you get: MR626799
