Hardy Designs Gauge Panel
Hardy Designs Gauge Panel
Hi Guys,
Here are a couple tips on the installation process. I haven't had time to do a step by step installation guide yet, but this should help those of you that have questions on how to mount the panels securely.
After removing the factory dash panel you will notice the climate controls are mounted loosely in the dash. Since this is the main mounting point for the gauge panel, it must be secured. There are two sets of tabs on the left and right side that clip into the dash. If you tie a wire tie onto the fingers between the dash and the tabs on the fingers it will limit the movement enough for the gauge panel to fit tightly. You still want the climate controls to move slightly so you can line up the buttons and knobs but you don't want it to move outward toward you. Here are some pics.

Hope that helps. Please email me if you have any installation questions. craigharde@hotmail.com

Re: label information
Hi Thomas,
The part #'s are :
MR500935
MR500932
MR568314
Yes, you do need the relocation kit. Mitsubishi calls it a CD changer installation kit, the part # is MZ598263EX.
The stickers are about $11 total and the kit is about $60.
Thanks,
Craig

I have been searching for the information and cant find it.
Do you know the part numbers to the gauge labels we need to buy for the new gauge panel?
Do you need the relocation kit for an aftermarket radio?

Hi all,
Personally I don't care much for Zip-tying anything on my car and in the process of installing Craig's awesome panel, I figured out a better way to secure the climate controls.
I ended up using some leftover parts from my Infinity speaker install, but any properly sized combination of bolts/nuts/washers should do the trick. Basically you end up using the two round "ears" (or holes) on the side of the climate control unit and bolt them down onto the supporting bracket ... holes don't quite line up, but there is enough clearance to run a thin bolt through there (hence the need for washers).
I should have probably taken some more pics, but once you look at it, it's simple enough.
For more pics of the completed install check out my other thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=84010

from Ludikraut's post:
"MZ598263EX - CD Changer Install kit (converts lower tray to DIN panel, comes with rails to accomodate stock radio)
MR626799 (black) - Lower DIN panel (same panel as above, but WITHOUT the rails ... much cheaper and works with aftermarket radios ... worked great with my Alpine )"
So I guess it just depends if you have an OEM or non-OEM radio?

Craig's panels does not clip into the dash like the stock panel, it is secured with the two screws near the climate control and the top sort of clips in under the dash. Check the other "craighardy panel" threads for more info and pics...

I just received my panel yesterday. I'm mounting Defi BF gauges in a 60mm panel. How do you secure the gauges in the panel? I'll try using the foam tape around the gauge to make the gauge fit snug.
