here is my list:

cheaper---Integra type R. 9k redline, and i think is a very good handling FWD car
similar---S2K. again the high redline VTEC engine....plus the go cart like handling.
more---it would be a 360 modena...cause its a ferrari and what are the chances that an average person can afford one?

I agree ^^^^^
Now that I've driven 4wd I can't see myself going back to front or rear wheel drive. There's no comparison.

i guess no one likes camaros or firebirds here lol, u can get z28/ss camaros fr like 7-8grand now and they run high 13's or so stock.

and what about a Miata with either an engine swap or turbo. those handle amazingly well and they look really nice. i think i'd take one over an s2k.

more expensive: McLaren F-1 (no contest...u know u would take it to) realisticly a Z06/Viper

cheaper: miata, srt-4, ralliart lancer, 95-98 cavalier z24(they are decently fast wiht the 2.4 twin cam dohc, i got smoked by one, 2-3 car lengths by 40 mph) and a 90-99 eclipse GSX/GS-T, u know they can be fast...we all do.

same price the sti, yadda yadda.

I'm floored no one has said Z06 yet. Nothing even comes close to the performance for the money. You have to compare it to $75k-$150k cars for the performance to be even. The M3, while an AWESOME car, when compared to the Z06 strictly in perfomance - even handling - isn't even *close*. Not even in the same ballpark.

Cheaper: Probably an SRT-4 or WRX.

Same price: STi

More Expensive: Z06, M3, Viper SRT-10, 911 TT, 360 Modena.

The original poster was looking for alternatives to the Evo, and stated in his 3rd post that he does not want a 2 seater. The Z06 is an awesome car, it just doesn't fit the criteria the original poster was asking for.

All the ridiculous suggestions here completely ignore that he is cross comparing an Evo. If he had $175,000 for a 360 Modena, I don't think he'd be considering an Evo for his only car. Even the (used) M5 I suggested was a big stretch, but it's bar none the best saloon normal money can buy.

good point.

I don't want a two seater as a daily driver; it just doesn't seem too practical or cost efficient.

so WSB, can I also have your input on your choice of alternatives?

Cheaper: I have to go with a Mini Cooper John Cooper Works Edition.... you just have to love the heritage there. Fast little car that handles as well, or maybe better than anything else out there.

Same Price Range: This may not count (as it is 5,000 more on the sticker) Ford Mustang SVT Cobra... don't hate... in a straight line that car is just mean... and you have to love the sound of the car. 390 Horses, and suede leather inserts on the seats... sweet ride...

More Expensive: Seriously?? Do you want a real answer?? If I had to spend more money!.... This is what I would do.... 2-3 CARS!! ... I would never give up my EVO entirely... so I would get my EVO, and then I would get myself an old '71 Monte Carlo SS and restore it to the utmost. Good Ol' American Muscle to go along with my rice ... and if I still needed to spend more! Toyota Prius... because you know I would spend way too much in gas already on the two above.

Sorry... I couldn't bring myself to say something truly ridiculous on this last one like... an Enzo... or McLaren... let's dream, but be realistic

Cheers

Fun thread

Cheaper: SRT-4 ... just a great bang for the buck(I had a neon for years, and it was great) or WRX Wagon (love wagons styling, and always prefer AWD)

Same: Golf R-32... I had a golf way back, always a VW fan, first car was a 64 squareback.....and its a REALLY NICE CAR.... or STI. Much respect for STis. 300HP is always ok.

More expensive: 993 (911) C4S, midnight blue, black leather. Or 2006 C4S because looks like they are doing the smaller headlights again like the 993. When my wife divorces me and runs off with some rich, handsome movie star, I am gonna ask her to buy me one of these as a parting gift.

If I get rich, I will keep the Evo and drive the hell out of (as I do) on dirt, snow, gravel and tarmac, and get a C4S for when I feel like pretending I have class and style. And the ol' trusty forester and datsun truck will stay... I like them also..... Just want to add the C4S to the flock.
