What would you do?
What would you do?
Here's the deal...I have a 1992 Celica AllTrac that's been in storage for the better part of 20 months with a smashed front courtesy of a deer, reflex, guardrail, and everyone telling me "Ya should have hit the deer".
Within the next few months, I'll be able to either get the ST185 fixed or buy an EVO. The AllTrac has 89+K miles and needs (dealer estimate) $5000 - $8000 in parts, labor, and new paint all over (2004 paint will never look the same as 1992 paint and there are wear spots from me constantly washing and waxing
) - saving the difference for the nickel and dime stuff that will inevitably be happening in the coming years. I have many hours of blood and sweat in this vehicle.
I like both cars about equally - the ST185 has teriffic build quality and has cost me less than $2000 in maintenance since I bought it in 1999, virtually no aftermarket support, and all the creature comforts of a high end Toyota. The EVO has four doors which weighs in heavily positive at this point, slap me silly speed, and aftermarket support out the wazzoo. There is a sad lack of knobs and buttons to play with from the showroom floor, but that's what the aftermarket support is for! Either way, I get a rare, quick, and nimble vehicle.
No matter what, I can't have both - there isn't enough parking space available and buying the EVO would not allow fundage for a garage to keep both. So what would you do?

f00l! dont you dare sell that car! hehe, it may be old but you know it is a very rare car and worth the blood and sweat that you have put into it! imho keep it and get yourself an evo, in the meantime slowly touch up the all-trac gt4, you will also love the lanevo, but it will never replace the all-trac!
sell it to me if anything, but honestly keep it, you will find a place to store the all-trac (parents, gf, siblings, cousins place?)
