I have had no problems with my Evo either. (7k miles) Anyways, I was wondering if people have been having trouble with the stock clutch in the STi's?? I have had zero problems with the clutch in the Evo by the way. Anyways, I pretty much agree with SilverEvo8Owner said about most of the issues just being an individual type of thing, both with problems with the car and dealership issues.

clubwrx.net is my favorite wrx/wrx sti site.

You know, STI people are having some crappy issues with their tranny. I mean worst then us.

Least it's our clutch that seem to have an issue, STI folks have the whole tranny to deal with.

I think STI is build better interior wise. Just grab a hold of your center console and start shaking it. It felt like mine is put together with wad of spits at the factory.

My sunroof wont open last night. It got stuck, then it started to rain and it opened.

Stuff like that just makes me believe that this car is still a japanese car and not european car.

If it didn't go so fast and didn't handle like god, I would really hate this car.

is it time for yet?

in my experience, sti owners are usually older and kinda boring...they seem more worried about picking up groceries in comfort than driving at 10/10th on the track.

I just know the Impreza WRX 227hp and the car is very weak compared with my Evo. I think the subaru is better on street driving. I feel my Evo like a race car with turn signal.

what other cars similar in our class are there? do they have the same reliability issues?

not for the same class, but what about the s2k? VW R32? s4? RSX type s M3? supra?

i'm sure the s2k and the rsx wouldn't have much problems since they're both hondas.

I read on Clubwrx.net that Subaru sent out an official letter to all dealerships, it basially said that any and all mods will completely void the warranty, some of the things included exhausts, intakes, even turbo timers.

HEY guys what up, I am new and am sill learning about cars but unless I am mistaken the STi runs on a Mitsu Turbo. This seems to say that Mitsu must have good enginering or else the STi would have a different turbo. And I believe that several other cars run with Mitsu Turbos. While that doesn't prove that the quality is better I think it does show a hint of the truth.

So the wrx/sti forums are nasioc, clubwrx, and imprezawrx sti. Is evolutionm, the only Evo forum outthere. There must be more, right?

That is very true, when I read the stuff people post on nasioc.

I think there's an EVO NYC forum. There should be a few more local ones, not too sure though.

if some of you guys would do research, it is not all operator error. it seems to be a faulty 'clutch system' (what ever part of your clutch goes first i guess) though it seems to be flywheels
Remember last decade when mitsu had designed the new crankshaft for all 2nd gen eclipse turbos (you know 'walking crankshaft') , people and even mitsu thought that it was operator error. As you can see with the evo it may not be the crankshaft, rather the clutch. So what i am saying (and in my own opinion) is that maybe mitsu designed the clutch wrong in all EVOs and it is going to be a matter of time to when your clutch goes out. Just like the 2nd gen eclipse when some engine blew at 350miles and some not even until 120,000 or more miles.

think about it, it all makes sense.
