Click the above post and SCROLL DOWN. There's an article STi VS EVO VIII !!!!! They have specs. 233HP with an upgrade to 300HP. I assume the US spec is automatically getting the upgrade, detuned for emissions.

A little off topic but I don't care Real Scooby redesign pics from AutoExpress. I'm wondering if they'll get in trouble with Subaru since the pics came out before the embargo date of Sep 26?

Post from ScoobyNet

OR

location of original pics

All I gotta say is I can't decide which is uglier, the new or the old?

The new STi's hoodscoop is really ugly!
They should move away from using the hoodscope to a FMIC
Even the WRC uses an FMIC

it looks like they took the hood off a new mustang cobra, and the rear wing from an evo VI. maybe they realized the sti wont compete w/ the VIII and they just want to mimic it, hoping someone will mistake the former for the latter

Do you guys really think that this evo VIII will be the last evo to come out? Hope not that would mean they would only sell it for one year in the U.S. or what ???????

This may be the last version the WRC car is based on.
Either way, has made several versions of the EVO (i.e. Tommi Makinene edition, GTA) in the past, which means the lifespan for the VIII could be expanded another 2 years.
Of course, just because the WRC car is no longer a LAncer, does not mean the Evolution will disappear. Just look at the comeback the Galant VR-4 made in Japan
THen again the sedan version doesn't really sell well, but the wagon version is quite popular.

In response to all the scubby haters out their, all I have to say is that at least the new style on the STI looks good and all the curves and lines flow together. Not that the pontiac styling cues on the evo 8 spy shots aren't the best design of the century .

As for which car ill be buying, it has always been ALL about the performance numbers.

The article is from a U.K. magazine. They may get it later than we do, but I think it's just a mistake on their part or they may be referring to the model year
