I have a feeling alot of evo owners just don't like to admit to themselves that Mitsu quality is sub-par. I maintain my car very well, and like I said before, it's a daily driver. (aka it never gets launched or anything stupid)

I guess this is a mater of perspective... This is my first Mitsubishi and I will say that I was a tad worried about the quality / reliability going into the deal. I have owned this EVO for over a year and have well over 20K miles as my daily driver. On some days I drive over 200 miles for my job. This car is every bit as tight as my 6 previous Hondas (which I don’t think anyone can argue quality and reliability on). I started modifying within the first few weeks of owning the car and have had no problems at all. I have the original stock clutch and brakes. The car is every bit as solid as the day I drove it off the lot. Heck, I think it runs better now than ever! I suppose the EVO is not for everyone....
I read about issues on these forums, but I have had ZERO issues myself. I am fairly certain that EVRY manufacture of automobile in the world has customers that have warped rotors and their share of clutch problems... I have had more issues with warped rotors on Hondas due to the lug nuts being improperly tightened, but it was no fault of Honda. Not sure why the same issues that can be experienced with ANY other car make the EVO a shoddy vehicle. I can’t even think of another car on the market today that I could easily modify 100+ HP over stock and not effect drivability and reliability as is the case with the EVO...

I've put ~10k miles on my Evo in the last 3 months ... runs like a champ. Overall fit and finish is good, but not as good as that of the Audis I own, which is fine, since I didn't buy the Evo to look good (although with the current mods it finally looks better than my A4). What I find really interesting is now that I've really gotten used to driving my Evo around, it makes my A8 feel like a sluggish turtle (steering feels imprecise, turn-in is sloppy, car feels too floaty when going fast, seats don't offer enough lateral support, etc.). Sure the Evo's ride is a lot harsher, but that's exactly what I love. If I had to use one word to describe my Evo's driving experience it would be: PRECISE. No other car (German or otherwise) that I've ever driven even comes close. ...and FWIW, the brakes on the A8 are a maintenance nightmare ... with normal driving you have to swap pads and rotors roughly every 30K miles (~$800)

I tried my hand with the evo, but I am probably gonna go back and get an S4.
