I don't have the letter in front of me but, I think it is the GVW not the curb weight.

Rodger, the label is for GVW or how weight the car can carry safely.

If you haven't gotten your label yet, give it some time. I just got mine after hearing about the first one two weeks ago.

I laughed and tossed it in the trash. They can put the label on when I let them touch my car which will be never. To clarify, according to the letter explaing the recall, the new label simply restates what loads the vehicle can carry. I suppose the federal boys are concerned about over loads casusing injury.

As far as us owners are concerned: It's good to know what you can carry safely in case you date three really big girls all at the same time, intend to haul sand or gravel in your car, have summo freinds, or are just **** retentive about such things.

This was typed so please excuse any errors in sp etc.

This probably issued by the dealer in an attempt to sell you another vehicle. Sure they will buy it back--at current KBB value--if you buy a new car.

Gimmick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what i'm worried about is them trying to turn this around someday, and say something like well we see that there was a recall on this vehicle and you failed to attend... this part broke becasue you overloaded the vehicle without knowing, had you had the new lable you would have been aware...

Not that that couldn't easily be turned around and faught...

Anyone knows what the new Max. load weight number is?

The owner's manual says 150 lbs x 5 people, so that equals 750 lbs including all cargo; however, the label on the car says 827 lbs. Could this just be the label to correct that?

Just found out....they did in fact (who ever said it) want to just get me into the dealership. Buy a new vehicle??? check for mods??? whatever. Nothing big thankfully. They just told me that I need to bring my car in for the sticker and to check the wire harness. I'm not going to waste my time.

Talking

I also got the letter saying that I need the new label. I receive that letter about a week ago and I already sent it my Evo to the dealer. I don't think they would check for mods or things like that, 'cause I got some mods on and they didn't said anything about it. I tell them some problem that I have with the car, and then they still fix it under the warrenty; I don't have to pay for anything (except oil change).
