I have a problem....
YAh it does
Yes it deserves more respect but remember this car came from japan...Seems like they like their cars kitted and ****. Look at the hks carbon fiber evo, that **** doesnt look like krap. That car looks like it will beat the **** out of everything on the road. It has wide body cf. plus some kits they make for it looks pretty good, atleast what i think.
honestly, I bought my car with the expectation that it wouldn't hold its value.. But I do feel that cars are a long-term investment, its only a problem for someone who wants to turn around and buy the next popular car and trade the old one in, then you'll take a bath on it.. what difference if the car is worth $1 after you've driven it, if you really enjoy the car?
turning the evo into a drag racer is tough as its a new platform and only a few tuners have the money and the know-how to turn it into one....... evo with minor mods can become a king of autocrossing and road course where its power, amazing handling and braking makes it tough for any other sportscars to keep up... if its straight line power you want, you loose the two biggest advantage the evo has against its competitor... the sti....
1.superior handling
2.braking (current king of braking and beat the modena on a R&T testing to become #1)
the sti is faster on the straight stock and may be a better dragster because of displacement advantage... i guess if u didnt get my point, the evo is kinda wasted on a drag strip

There is a certain image that comes along with this car that stems from the movies and the fact that it is made and evolved in Japan. This is the same image that causes idiots to rev at you at stoplights. The other day some idiots in a huge diesel flatbed were revving at me on the highway...ridiculous!
I won't be putting any jdm styling (not even the fart can style muffler) or any graphics on my car, so you won't be alone in your un-obnoxiousness.
Just my opinion, don't mean to offend anyone, I just don't understand.
if you bought the car as an asset that will hold up his value than you have a much bigger problem than why buy an evo. i bought my car becaus it is a blast to drive and i had fun racing it. if i wanted an asset i would have bought an house

I have nothing against showing your car, it's just that this riced out cars are the ones you see the most because people take pride in making them look unique and ridiculous.

Maybe if I buy an RS and de-badge it red-necks and punk *** posers will leave me alone???
Who said anything about me buying an Evo strictly to drag??? I do know the cars capabilities in the turns and braking... and I'd enjoy every second of it... !
Sorry to say, but THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS. If you have this many reasons that bother you, why even post about it, DONT GET AN EVO! I dont see where you are seeing all of these "riced" out Evo's. But still, is that any of your business what other people do to their cars? I for one, am all about performance, but let it be, people will do whatever the **** they want to their cars.
I've seen plenty of 1g's riced out, GET OVER IT. There is a big ricer community in EVERY car community. If your so worried about the Evo losing value, buy a Honda, they hold their resale value. I bought my car to keep it for a very long time, I'm not worried about it. I knew what I was getting myself into.
Basically, get another car, it doesn't sound like the Evo is for you. Its not for everybody. You sound like you want a drag car, with money, anything can be a drag car, but the Evo was meant for a road course car.
Also, who cares if morons in civics or whatever rev at you? That doesn't mean you have to do anything about it. You are mentioning the dumbest damn things on why you dont want to buy a car.
But enjoy whatever you get!
Peace...

IDK. Maybe you forgot to look inside at the stripped interior. Or the race harnesses. Or the roll cage. Or the lack of headlights which routes to the intake. Or maybe that's just the new hotness on the rice scene.
