There is no point to this thread. I eventually want to "rice" out my car, if you want to call it that. I plan on painting the stock sideskirts black (I like the black on red scheme), and maybe put a few stickers on when I end up getting the EMS and a turbokit. I just bought a VTA bov, for the sound, as well as the HKS EIDS to compensate for it. Will it work? Who knows, who cares, it's my money. You should worry less about what other people think and do to their cars, and worry about your own business.

 

just last weekend a mustang i believe maybe 95 or 96 seriously wanted to race me.. i know i coulda showed him a thing or two since he didnt seem to know wat the evo was but probably thought i was a riced out civic or lancer wanting attention hehe.... why do people hate ricers? cuz they look overly aggresive but cant back it up..... check out the HKS evo and its huge wings? do anyone truely laugh at it? no, why? cuz on the world famous tsukaba track, it dominated the competition... dont worry about other people.... if anyone gives u crap, just know ur evo (assuming u get it) will probably humiliate them and make them reconsider next time....

 

actually i didnt think too many ppl riced out the evo.. pretty much every evo i've ever seen is basically stock.. ONCE i saw one with a buncha decals.

 

my friend cries "RICE" and even calls me uncle ben because i have a gialla fascia... he's just jeolous because his is300 cant even punch to 60 in under 7 and his insurance is so high from his stupid mistakes he cant afford a nice car anymore...

 

Actually, you can't really rice out an Evo, because the Evo has the performance to back it up, unlike a Civic. Not to mention it was cars like the Evo, back in Japan, that started the craze of big wings, bodykits, and rims, etc. Then people over here said"Hey why don't we do that? There are no Evos and WRX's here[back then] so maybe we can do Civics like in Japan. The only drawback is they don't have the performance. Then when the Evos and WRX came over, the scene was already tainted by riced out low budget cars.
It wiuld be very difficult to rice out a Skyline or Supra, turbo of course.

 

I don't get what this guy is talking about, the only "riced-out" evo i've seen on this forum was the one with neon lights under and people falmed the s**t out of him for doing that. Oh and the Apexi Evo... that's a real race car in case you've never seen one of those before

 

ok wow... there's no other japanese part on teh talon but the hks race cams? THE WHOLE CAR IS MADE IN JAPAN, this is so ricockulous it almost sounds ****in' racist. what you have something against japanese manufacturers and aftermarket?

the shep racing talon does have stickers, check out he gaudy bright white and blue ones on the bumper.

the evo is not a drag racing vehicle and for 8gs in a talon you can maybe beat all the evos in a straight line... (those that are running stock turbo). try finding the necessary chassis stiffness and all the other roadracing qualities built into the evo... for goodness sake they run these things on time attack instead of 1g eclipses for a reason (but this is no blow towards dsms, i have all the respect in the world for dsms and was facing the same which to buy decision).

i think your defenition of rice is wrong... rice is not what the evo looks like, that's like saying the lotus exige is ricey, it looks fast, everything on it is functional. rice is unfunctional, rice is that home made intake that sucks up dirt, rice is that big spoiler that is not shaped like an upside down wing, rice is a big body kit that scrapes the ground too much because it's too low and it's daily driven (a car that is low is not rice if it's a real speed trailor queen.) that's why i think you are racist you are insinuating that anything "japanese" is rice... which sounds like the term, but is ****ed up to suggest.

and greddy has a great point, try getting all the squeeks out of your talon, try getting the headliner to not fall off, you want a sleeper right? better look stock interior (that means no stripping). try reselling yer talon... how much would you get for 8k in mods? you'd get the 1500 you spent on the original car cuz modded talons are a dime a dozen.

 

umm... there's nothing you can do to have ppl with mustangs and civics stop revving at you... not having the purpose built wing on it won't change that... removing the badges won't do that... if you want ppl to leave you alone, remove the aggressive aluminum fenders and hood, take out the HID's, remove the brembo's, strip out the recaro's and momo wheel, sell your wheels, pull out that intercooler, junk the front bumper, and trash that snail looking thing that makes a whistling noise under the hood...

you can't buy a regular lancer either since many of hessian's think they're evo's... you wanna buy something that ppl won't rev at you? buy a bus pass...

in all seriousness, you want subtle??? this isn't the car for you... I say, **** what other ppl think, if you really love the car, you won't care what the neighbor's say or do...

Listen to him *** wut others say, man i bet the talon feels like **** when you jump in the **** pit, Once i sit in the evo it makes me just want to drive becuase of the fun factor and feeling you get from the car. I dont kare how fast that talon is its a piece of **** to me, and if you think you can pick up chicks in that **** you might be gettin them fat ones walking towards balley's

Fickle, if you wannt to make a sleeper then when you go with the Br racing exhaust everyone in a three block area will know that you are on your way. the Bushur exhaust is the loudest evo exhaust I have ever heard. I know I had the 3tb exhaust and had to sell it for that reason.your car will not be a sleeper if you put the br exhaust on. just my 2 cents.
