Brembo Cover

Ok, Silly question. What do you think the Brembo is coated with?

My tire blew not too long ago and I got some scratches on my brembo caliper.

Now the whole clear coating is flaking off. I don't think it's a clear coat, since the clear coat don't do this. I thought it was something else, like polyurethane silica or something in that neighborhood.

any idea?

This happened to a friend of mine, near his bleader valve, and they covered it under warranty. They said there was a TSB for it (don't know the number) and they replaced two calipers. Maybe try that route.

Good luck!

sweet! I'll try that. Yeh, it's exactly where the paint chip is at. Right where the bleeder valve is and on top of it.

If the dealer gives you a hard time PM me and I'll email my freind for the TSB info. I sent him an email allready, but no reply yet. He just got the car back yesterday too; with new calipers.

I believe the calipers are powder coated.

it happened to mind too. The bleeder valve may be leaking a small amount of brake fluid out. And as most of us know, brake fluid will lift paint/finishing off, causing it to flake
