The Countdown Begins!
Yes, the seats are small, by American standards. While I am just a touch under 6 feet, I'm at the upper size range for fitting in most Japanese sport seats. I weigh in at about 176lbs (80kg), with a 34 waist. In America, all the clothes I buy are Medium - in Japan, it's LL or EXL. As it is, while I can get my skinny butt into many of the seats (jogging's good for something!), the shoulders are usually a bit pinched, and I'm not wide-shouldered by American, or even European standards.

The new STi, and especially the Spec C, is faster than the Evo VII. Subaru and STi have taken a rather aggressive approach to this car, and for all intents and purposes, it's a new car. The Spec C was, as far as I was concerned, a RWD car that had a habit of sending power to the front wheels in a timely manner when needed. I actually preferred the standard STi this time around, the Spec C is tuned rather aggressively. In fact, the Spec C was more RWD than the R34 Skyline NŸr spec that I drove, because when you had the DCCD system set for RWD bias, it stayed that way, unlike the GT-R whose electronics interfered unnecessarily, IMO.
I doubt that MMC and Ralliart is sitting still on the Evo 8, and I expect that there will be enough upgrades and tweaking that the usual battle will go on. But, I must add that STi has done some truely significant changes to the STi, so this battle will be closer than before, and Subaru may actually come on top in this round. All the press there were unaminous in regards to it topping the Evo 7 - even the one in the Evo 6 RS.
Good stuff - competition like this brings even better cars to the consumers.

I really appreciate your honesty on the Spec C review. Especially on a Evo forum.
Funny thing is, you mention a car like that over on I-Club, most people think you're nuts. They don't know about it!
<sigh> Oh, to live in a country with such fun cars! I'm gonna go cry now....

Hi there,
I think that Paul is right on with the latest post about the STi and improvements that happened lately. I am a bit worried about the ground that
will be able to hold if they bring a car that is inferior to the EVO 7 over here, while Subaru is improving their STi model even further. At the moment, Subaru is ahead on the North American market and if they improve their cars even more,
will stay behind!
Still it is always good for us to have a continuance of the war over here too!!

Let's see how
differentiates the specs for the EVO according to regional markets (U.S., Japan, Europe, etc.) and how Subaru responds.
They way things are turning out, enthusiats are really getting a lot of attention now(350Z, G35, EVO, STI...)

Some New Stuff
Hey everyone.
Looks like there's going to be six colors initially : Silver, red, blue, white, black and yellow.
There's only one transmission code: 5MT
Nuff said there. There's also like four options groups, but I don't know what's in them, the mind reels at the possbilities. We got other info but its too confidential for this board and not really of interest. Hope this helps.

Codes
Close, the two that are circled are numbers they use, but the other two don't match. But again, I stress, I have no idea what they stand for. A00 can apply to several vehicles. It is a code used over and over again and usually means the base model of the car, like for instance a Galant DE or Galant GTZ which only come one way, so A00 could be the only template, for those particular cars. One other tidbit: "Blue by you" is a color name, get it?
There's some talk in Washington about legislation which would block importation of the evolution. The Christan coalition is threatening an injunction unless it's renamed. Recommendations have included "Mitsubishi Creation", "Mitsubishi Nodifrent", and "Mitsubishi Borndisway".
Skittles
The color names are:
Apex Silver
Rally Red
Blue By You
Weightless White
Tarmac Black
and of course,
Lightning Yellow
Oh yeah, now three out of the four of the above template codes do match. There's only one priceline and only one interior code, so I imagine these templates are going to be very similar as in the car basically only coming one way with a few minor details to differentiate them.
