In the end I hope that they are wildly successful and the US Evo is an instant classic.

The site is back up, but is nothing more exciting than before.

I did enter the contest though.
I also checked out the movies. They are pretty boring.

if you go to the evo site w/ the countdown (which btw has all zeros across the board on my comp), look at the blurred pic under the contest section. it looks like the grill and hood of the evo 8 from vegas. so i think the evo 8 is coming to
.
i've been browsing this forum, but this is my first post. this site is the best evo site i've come across.

Maybe a stupid question..but...why would Mitsu set the "world launch date" for Jan 3rd. Make brochures, ads, commercials, billboards, websites, etc and not have the car available until March?? Just curious as to why they would not have the car available on the roads until 2 months later. Wouldn't they want the people in America to see it on the roads the same time as on TV??
Well IMO, and like everyone else is probably thinking, one of the main reason
isn't saying **** and taking so long to put the car out is all due to marketing strategies:
1. They want to make sure every potential buyer knows it's available
2. They wanna make sure they beat subaru in their sales
3. No one knows everything about Sti either, although it's been unveiled.
4. They still have quite a few 2002 models they still wanna sell.
I might be wrong in my opinion and feel free to correct me but i think some these are reasons for them taking so long.

It's not mass-produced vehicle....so they start producing the cars only after certain numbers of cars are actuallly ordered. I had to wait over a month when I bought my 4. And I live in Japan. Also for the people overseas...they won't ship the car again until certain number of cars are actually ready to be shipped. What that magic number is for the US...I have no I idea.
