I drove your car when you brought it back. I told you that the synchros in the trans were going bad beacause it would grind going into gear at hight RPM. That noise is alot different than a t-case whine.

After reading all this at once, here's what I think happened:

1- TT installed the transfer case and put oil, as no one on earth would install a TC without putting in oil, I can't believe it.

2- The seal was bad and Rey didn't notice the leak (it might have happened during a long drive). mistake:Rey

3- TT made a mistake by not noticing the bad seal when first informed of the problem. mistake: TT

4- A third party got involved 'cause Rey didn't want to take the chance to drive it all the way back to TT.

Now TT are right to be cautious because of the other shop getting involved... and Rey is right to be pissed because the install was made by TT in the first place anyway.

And BTW Rey, I strongly feel you should have at least called TT one last time about this before posting on the forum about it. I've been on both side of the fence (retailer and consumer), and this is not the way to do things.

And Mark, it would be all to your credit if you still could get over this and work with Ray to get this resolved... in the end, it's still better for business.

Why don't you guys work out a mutual agreement so that you now each foot part of the bill and get this issue resolved??? Just a suggestion...

Peace out Guys!

That would be the good samaritan thing to do, and I would like to see that happen as well. But we are talking about MONEY here. Whether a reputable shop or not, I dont think anyone wants to say sure..OK lets split the bill. I had my car broken into one time at a shop and the shop owner did not want take responsibilty for the car b/c he has already paid out on other cars. I wish I had known this before I left my car there to get work done. Anyway, my insurance co saved the day and then tried to come back and have me repay them back saying that all the stolen parts were for racing and they didnt cover that. Anyway, I pay the insurance co thousands of dollars and still give me a hard time. Regardless, this is a difficult situation. I dont even know if you can prove it was a bad seal. Did it have a very slow leak for it to be driven for 3mos?????? If so, where's the proof. Can pictures be taken of fluid on a driveway or was it parked in the grass??? If I were a shop owner, I feel the tension. I would be more than happy to take a look at it but I wouldnt voluntarily agree to pay for it and at the same time I wouldnt want others to feel that my shop is any less reputable over a particular situation thats getting much attention.

Who knows, maybe they can put more oil back in the Tcase and it will miraculously run again?

This could of been very possible if he hadnt taken the course of action he did. As i've said before, I've seen many people in the past destroy transfer cases in less then 2500 miles, in some cases 100 miles. I know we put fluid in it, keith drove the car a week later and he was complaining of grinding of gears at high rpms. We dont even know if they pulled out the right plug out. He went about the situation the wrong way, i hadnt heard about his problem until someone called me and told me he posted this.

We definitely put oil in it. It wouldn't have lasted a week without oil.

Hi i bought a Transfercase from you guys about 3 months ago and you also installed it. im started to have problems with it. it has a loud whining noise now. I went to put New Fluids in the T-case There was no oil in the T-case not one drop of oil came out. I put in the Fluids on the T-case and still makes a whineing noise. Would you guys be able to Waranty the work since you guys didnt put no oil on the T-case?

in other words, you're not going to compromise and help the guy. you realize that lots of prospective customers read these threads, right? if you cut this guy a little slack now, it would undoubtedly pay dividends for you later.

But why eat the costs for something you know you didn't do just to save face? People who don't buy from places because of a single thread.. well.. they're the least of TT's worries

yeah whatever man if he would have went back to them and handled it like an adult yeah, but if I was TT at this point I'd tell him to go kick rocks!

Another tuner has touched it no telling what they did to it. TT shouldnt have to warranty something that someone else messed with. If he would have taken to them to fix to begin with he wouldnt be where he's at.

Hell he still doesnt know for sure if the correct plug was checked.
