Thumbs up November issue Road & Track

this is my first post let me know what you think. sorry, if its been seen already.

from the pages of road and track

Spotlight: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII

It's coming, with upward of 270 bhp, all-wheel drive, 17-in. wheels, sport seats and four doors. The Lancer Evolution VIII is a $30,000 rocket ship. Although the Evo shares the Lancer's platform and is similar in appearance, the cars are nothing alike. The biggest difference is the Evo's high-power turbo engine with an all-wheel-drive system that uses an active differential, which can be set to tarmac, gravel or snow for optimal fun. This will be the first time an Evo model hits U.S. shores. We can't wait. — Shaun Bailey

Hmm - they mention the ACD, which other sources have said isn't coming.

Thanks for the info...

It looks like Mitsu really changed all their grille. First Galant, then Montero and Outlander followed.

Hopefully, the dealers will mount the front license plate holder offset to one side, instead of directly in front of the FMIC. That would be pretty stupid if they blocked the airflow.

The dealers don't have a lot of say in it, as 's bracket holes determine where it is mountable. Fortunately IN doesn't require front plates...

Keep seein that front mount intercooler, which I know we wont get (Not known from fact, but doubt it will pass front impact tests). And I'm glad someone finally said it. That new front end looks almost exactly like a PONTIAC Sunfire. Damn I hate Pontiac too.

You never know, this is America and I'm pretty sure that 80% of dealers here in US don't know exactly what is FMIC for.I bet as long it looks OK(for them) they would mount it like that:Airflow ?Who cares.. Yeah, right

just a rumor i heard Vittorio, I heard that were going to change to two side mount intercoolers, which would lessen the HP, but pass front impact standards in the US. And if no one else has heard this than shoot me. I'm so sick of the different rumors about, I don't want to blamed for starting one myself.

No,no dont take me wrong,Shadyshane.I am not blaminig You for anything. That was just really old rumor from either June or July .Anyways just like Triqeek said , already did "some" testing (if would look on the main page ,You can find some pictures)during hot weather with FMIC and that "sweetie" was right in the middle.
