won't know for sometime, it's being heavily debated but IMO seems unlikely due to the fact we're getting FMIC and it's still under 30K

I agree. Omitting those features would be a step backward in "Evolution". Mitsubishi can offer higher-spec Lancers to fill in the gap between the OZ Rally and Evo, but the name "Evolution" should be reserved for the complete, feature-packed car that continues the evolution over the years from previous Evos.

A lot of people think AYC and ACD won't be in the North American version of the Evo, because of cost, maintenance, and reliability reasons. Hopefully, Mitsubishi will be smart enough to offer the ACD and AYC as options.

The rules for Evo giveaway state that the MSRP will not exceed $32,000. If the car is anywhere near $32,000, I expect the ACD and AYC to be there. Am I wrong in expecting this?

It's not that some of us just think it....we were actually told by people "in the know". Ayc/acd really isn't THAT big of a deal..I'd rather have the car be reliable and weigh a little less than have some gizmo feature that dealers have never even seen, let alone repaired before.

Well, all I know is that everytime the EVO gets put up against a car with similar HP and the AWD scheme (*wink wink* WRX STi), the AYC/ACD combo always seems to be the deciding factor between victory and defeat. Agreed, it will be interesting to see dealer techs puzzling over it (mayhap a system like Ford has with SVT is in order), and somewhat disconcerting, but, hell, gimme a smaller gas tank and that AYC/ACD. Oh yeah, and throw in 32K so I can actually afford one before I'm 70.

It's funny you mention that. When the Evo was unveiled at the Dealer LV meeting, our site was displayed. I don't know how often they visit, but I do believe they visit from time to time.

That is a really interesting insight. That didn't cross my mind...but putting together what the Mitsu reps told me and the fact that the STI is comming after the EVO, it sounds like that is a possibility. But Mitsu will have a bunch of upset costomers who sepnd $30K for a half *** EVO, and could have gotten a fullspec year or so later. Guess we'll have to wait and see....

You may be able to get full spec next year but it sure as hell won't be $30K and under. Probably closer to $35K.
