The dealer told me the first oil change is at 600 miles and then every 3000 miles after. I keep my RPM under 5k, dont know how you can keep it under 3k for 1000km. Took a fast sweeper today on the freeway and my girlfriend just said"wow so stable" This car is just too awesome...cant wait until its broken in. Too bad there are too many speed traps in Taiwan.

First question, if I leave the turbo spray on auto does it spray only when the sensor tells it to or does it go off by time intervals?

Second question is how long does the car have to idle for after normal driving? Getting a turbo timer soon but need to know in the meantime.

I did my oil change at 1k, 2k, 3k, and 5k (in km's). Now its at 5k km intervals. At the 1k mark I changed out the diff and gearbox oil as well.

It was horrible the trying to keep it under 3000 rpm. I also make an effort not to "cruise" at a particular rpm (well, at least not for more than a 2km stretch).

That proc I followed was a carry over from breaking in engine rebuilds for my Integra. I suppose it wasn't really necessary for a car direct from the factory.

As for the auto mode (IC spray), I would imagine that it'd be a pressure switch activated by reading boost levels but I'm not 100% sure on that. I'll go double check on that and get back to you.

I let mine idle for abt 30 secs after normal driving (under 3500 rpm). I'm not that much of a fan of idling too long so I usually take it easy 1km - 2km before I reach wherever I'm supposed to be.

The other reason, possibly, is that you'd have moving air to cool the oil cooler which I would expect makes the warm down more "effective" - again its just a theory.

I just turned to about 2900 miles and did my first oil change... the dealer specs on oil change is every 5000 miles... because its synthetic oil. I was thinking every 3000. But If Mitsu says 5000 miles... thats what I'll shoot for. Any input?

Like someone mentioned earlier about cops here driving Evo's is not true, they just use speed traps(radar camera) and thats it. I dont know about the illegal street drag races but im sure they dont go out of their ways to catch them, maybe just road block?

dont worry about break in the car man

to me the best way to for the break in preiod is just drive normally and 500 /1500/3000 oil change

and dont drive hard b4 3000 thats all

So what would I drive here in Taiwan in the meantime? Life is too short
I live here now and thats how much tax I have to pay, suck it up... hehe. I would like to wait until I get back but for now I will be here for quite some time, maybe in 2006 I might move back to LA and start my own business. Cant really complain because eveyones paying the price for driving imported cars over here..My brother lives in Indonesia and he paid 170K for a Mercedes S320, their tax is even worse.

JP: My thoughts are if you're going to use a fully synthetic oil, then 5000 miles should be ok unless you're really driving your car hard all / most of the time.

My schedule is every 5000 km / ~ 3000 miles because its easier for me to remember. Not a very scientifc reason I'm afraid, but it works for me.

First of all yes there is traffic in Taiwan but there are still open roads for you to have fun.
Second whats your problem with me working for my parents, are you mad cause you have to work for someone else? Your mommy and daddy didnt buy you anything or gave you a company to run? Yes I had a F355 Spider when I was 24 and yes my parents gave me the money to buy it, im sure anyone would take their parents money if they had the opportunity. You must have issues with me getting a Evo in Taiwan...Right now I work for my parents which in one year I was able to buy the car all cash. You making it sound like its bad working for your family. Yes I can work for someone else and get salary for the rest of my life, but im lucky to have my parents pass the company to me. BTW I have my own place I dont see anything but jealousy... Im sure you have your own issues to take care of, leave me alone. Please dont act imature and talk ****, do it some where else. If your not happy with your life go complain to your parents. Do you have beef with me or what? Its people like you who make these forums look bad, we dont need more haters.

I just visited Taiwan a few months ago... Taichung, Taipei and KenTing . The city life is great there. So much to do, so many hot girls The one thing i noticed was I didnt see a single evo there.(A ton of regular lancers dressed up like evo's) My cousin was telling me they were very limited there. When I told her I had an EVO 8 she was completely amazed. Almost like it was a Ferrari or Lamborghini. So congrats on the purchase. The traffic is crazy though. I'd be worried non-stop about parking or driving my evo through the crowded streets. You and I both know they are some crazy drivers in Taiwan.
I think I could definitly live in Taiwan. Only thing tough for me was the exotic foods.

Me and my friends havent seen one either yet, except mine. The funny thing is even people on scooters are looking at the car. My car is a thieve magnet, I am a bit paranoia parking it at some places.
