question regarding "2004 free scheduled maintenance" - specifically oil changes

im been hearing that the the free scheduled maintenance for the 2004's isnt as good as I thought.

I wanted to hear some other opinions on this issue.

I thought I was going to get free synthetic oil changes every 3000 miles as part of this program. But after reading a few posts, I've been seeing that some people have been having problems getting the dealers to honor this deal already.

can anyone in SO CAL recommend a good dealer in SO CAL than doesnt try to jip you on the oil changes? im guessing it all depends on who you talk to at the service dept.
Also, can someone confirm that they do use MOBIL 1 synthetic???

from what i know in NY, at the local dealer by me the free oil changes DO NOT cover the Evo. Mobil 1 is too expensive to do that. However, they did that that if i provided the oil they would do all the rest for free. u can get Mobil 1 cheap at walmart.

I took my 03 Evo in several weeks ago for a 3500 mile oil charge and was shocked when they did not charge me. They said there was no charge due to the service being internal. Lets see what happens when I take it back for the 5000 Maint.

Actaully it does cover the evo now the problem is that you can only come in every 5000 miles if you need it more then that...Which we all do...You have to pay for those or do them your self. The nice thing is the 15000 and 30000 mantaince being free.

If your intrested in the plan look here at it...http://dickhanna.com/location/vancou...geId=education

And it is moble 1 because they require that. All fluids are what they require.

yeh, but does your 15k and 30k maintenance include parts? Or are they gonna just look for things you need to replace so they could make money off of you?

You're getting raped either way.

I've spoken with the service manager over @ Thousand Oaks Mitsubishi here in CA and I get the Free 5,000 interval oil changes done ... Its the bare minimum .. so when the time comes for the big service only the cheaper (oil) things will be free .. it does not cover brake pads and other things ...

Ask your dealer to run your VIN and see if your are eligible .. If your running harder then usual (99% of us) you should be changing your oil every 2500-3000 miles + having them do it for you ... 5 gal jug only 20 bux @ Costco & Walmart ...

When I first bought my Evo, the sales manager told me I was included in some "maintence" program that would include 3 free years of scheduled maintence. Now, I only have 11k on my clock so I only really have had oil changes and tire rotations. Either way, I got my evo for 30k out the door with this "maintence package". No complaints here.
