Did you buy your Evo for racing or comfort?
What comfort? Maybe if your last car was a go-cart. Me and my honey were just discussing me using her 328i as my everyday driver when she buys an Audi A4 1.8T wagon here soon...I cannot wait. The Evo is on it's way to becoming a full-on track, Race, occasional weekend vehicle.

i bought mine for the sporty feel... tight fitting seats, firm handling, great accelleration, decent styling...
but also I bought it becasue its the long awaited evo... i've been following the evo for a few years and waiting in hopes of a US model so I can retain the warranty.. but I guess that doesn't mean jack anymore since mitsu doesn't want to honor anything... I can't stand companies that don't back their cars... I dont see mitsu looking as deep into detail for some skrew loose on a montero but since its "an evo" I guess it falls under some special catagory... If this thing was specially designed and all this hype about how much work went into the car wouldn't you be secure in trusting your vehicle to preform the way you built it?

I purchased the Evo so that I can go to West Coast Customs meet Xzibit and "pimp my ride". I will be plushing the interrior in candy red with a center console fountain (its pimp). Then I'll hook up my wheels with chrome 24" spinners.....let em know im all about bling. THe trunk wil be stuffed with three jl audio 20" subs boxed in the heaviest mdf and fiber glass offered. As for suspension, hydo's on all 4 will allow me to cruise in stlye.....'gotta keep it gangsta ya know'

LOL....let the mexican put suade in the interior like all the other cars......"imma do somefin different with the evo....suade..."
oh....i got the evo for power.....so lucky to have one of my top three cars
there shouldn't be a poll. this should just be a rant thread and then closed in a week after the same old redundant debate about why the MR package doesn't include dark head/tail lights.
I had cruise control when I bought the car, and EVo rides better than my lowered prelude.
And it's faster, looks better, brakes better, seats 4 comfortably. I don't think it's comfort or performance,
IT"S JUST THE PERFECT CAR FOR ME.
I don't know why people complaint about this car. it could go faster and it could ride more comfortably. it's very versatile.

I will point out that the car you bought from the dealer is not a race car. Not even close. It can be turned into one, but so can a Ford Focus or a Mazda Protege. I know lots of people with dedicated track cars made from the unassuming economy cars. It depends on what class you choose to race in and how much money you want to pour into the project. Tear out the interior, get a roll cage, put on racing rubber, a racing harness, delete the cat and muffler, add more go-fast stuff -- then you are on your way to a true race car.
The Evo is unique in that it can provide driving pleasure to the automotive enthusiast. It is fairly rare, had a legendary reputation, and is respected on the street. It handles wonderfully, has an adequate interior, and can even be used to get groceries each week. What's wrong with that?
For whatever reason people get the car, you shouldn't polarize yourself from them. God forbid we get into one of those "real BMWs have round tail lights" discussions. Some people want bigger turbos, and some want a remote trunk release (me). These are all reasonable things to want. It's up to Mitsubishi's marketing and product development people to decide what they provide. We'll vote with our wallets when the time comes.
