Did you buy your Evo for racing or comfort?
You can't beat the convenience and fun factor of the Evo for around $31k, as far as intended use, it's up to each owner, for my Evo, once broken in,it will be use as a track ***** and to pick up my kids at school, love the looks from other parents and teachers when i'm there
Well, let's see. This is my other car.
'97 Thunderbird Sport. 4.6l, reflashed EEC by Jerry, 2600 stall converter, 3.73:1 trac-lok rear, chassis bracing, leather, full power, cai.
Yeah, the EVO is my luxo-cruiser.

I will point out that the car you bought from the dealer is not a race car. Not even close. It can be turned into one, but so can a Ford Focus or a Mazda Protege. I know lots of people with dedicated track cars made from the unassuming economy cars. It depends on what class you choose to race in and how much money you want to pour into the project. Tear out the interior, get a roll cage, put on racing rubber, a racing harness, delete the cat and muffler, add more go-fast stuff -- then you are on your way to a true race car.
The Evo is unique in that it can provide driving pleasure to the automotive enthusiast. It is fairly rare, had a legendary reputation, and is respected on the street. It handles wonderfully, has an adequate interior, and can even be used to get groceries each week. What's wrong with that?
For whatever reason people get the car, you shouldn't polarize yourself from them. God forbid we get into one of those "real BMWs have round tail lights" discussions. Some people want bigger turbos, and some want a remote trunk release (me). These are all reasonable things to want. It's up to Mitsubishi's marketing and product development people to decide what they provide. We'll vote with our wallets when the time comes.

Fat chicks dig BMW and Benz. lol. Well down here anyway.
I bought my RS four weeks ago cuz it was cost effective to buying a GSR version.
And yes its a lot more comfy than my modded Eclipse GST and cuz I have the mod bug! My RS is whole lot quieter than my Eclipse and has everything that I need for daily ride (less pwr door locks).
But even with RS, I don't miss creature comforts. I like the fact the trunk is stripped and there's less insulation for weight saving. And I really don't think it's that loud. Of course, after my turbo back, insulation becomes pointless. Also, I never really used cruise control in my Eclipse, why take the fun out?
I got RS for the affordability of owning a legend, the one and only EVOLUTION (at price of an accord)!
This is my daily driver but hope to track it in future!
