EVO models

if the STI WRX is coming, will the 2003 be better versions of the EVO?, maybe the one coming this year will be toned down alot and the ones later will be more like the jap spec EvoVII??

Even if the next year was the same there would probably be a lot of little recalls and glitches fixed. I'm not really concerned about that as much as a drastic difference in the engine build.

Hopefully will knock Audi TT/Corvette off top sports car category in US JD power survey. Actually I think you could have JD power under trades descriptions act, TT is a designer pose mobile, Corvette - oh dear, fancy a spin?

The new Corvette ain't that bad but the design and built quality is worse than in an Evo. There's a few words which don't belong into the same sentence with a TT. Sportscar is the worst of them.

Unhappy Hope this is BS

Disclaimer what you are about to read might be total BS, and let's hope so.

Went to two different dealers here in Michigan today asking about putting a deposit down. Both dealers were taking them, but told me it probably wasn't worth it. They disagreed on one thing, one of them said March for delivery and the other said June/July. They both said that sticker would be 37,000 and that each dealership in America would get at least one, but no more than two. They finished ny telling me that I could put down a deposit and hope, but that they would give it to the highest bidder, currently at 65,000, which made my heart sink. I never believe dealers, but this is sticking in the back of my mind(don't they usually lie so you will buy the car not the other way around?). I want an EVO soooo bad, i hope it's not true.

I'm almost 100% sure those dealers are trying to rip you off. If The Evo is stickered at $37,000, Mitsubishi would have out done themselves in the stupidity department. I feel sorry for the guy who bid $65,000, you could import one for less than that!!!

I wish Mitsubishi would make an annoucement about the specs and prices.

I'm sure they will - sooner rather than later. This announcement will probably be made at either the Ramada Rally on Dec 13-16 or shortly after that, just in time for the 2002 Auto Shows.

wassup all. i'm a new member of the lancer forums. i'm planning 2 get a new or used car sometime 2002. i was originally planning on getting a used integra gsr, but i saw the evo vii and it was like love at first sight. the soonest i can get the integ is feb, but i wouldn't mind waiting for the evo vii 2 come out here.

i'm wondering if u guys think it would be worth the wait and the extra money.

From what I've seen so far, it is, without a doubt, worth the wait and money.

After reading what you guys have said about dealers taking names for the EVOVII, I thought I would see what my local Mitsu dealer said. The dealer is located in Toledo, OH.

The guy I talked to said a year to a year and a half. Which sorta surprised me. He also didn't know about it being detuned or not, and they aren't taking any names right now. This was on Tuesday Dec 4th, so I am not sure if anything has changed.

I figured I probably knew as much as he did about the current situation, but thought I would ask anyway. At least he knew what an EVOVII was.

Can't wait for the Detroit Auto show http://www.naias.com
