What'd you end up paying for your EVO?

Hey guys.

I'm looking for some advice when I walk into the Mitsu dealership to get them to kncok the price down a bit. Like I said I've got about 10k down payment which could MAYBE "help" in negotiating, no?

Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Putting lot of money down or paying cash does NOT make a difference. Paying cash is actually worse and yu'll probably save more by financing. Finance doesnt make any money off customers that pay CASH but instead do make money of interest rates. So putting $1k or $20k does not make a difference.

Unless you have recently purchased your Evo (current model year), please do not respond with your pricing info.

We really don't need another pricing thread. But if the info is current, I can see how it would be useful to people looking to buy a new Evo now.

how long after the model year brought over here did you guys get these prices? i'm looking to buy an '05 and i'm wondering if i have to/should wait a while before buying it or if i can go in a week after they get to my dealership to negotiate terms for buying it. i know with '03s, dealer markups were rampant, but some of you would have had great deals.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GIVE THEM THAT MUCH $ DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! that goes in their pocket. i would give them no more than 10% down. also if it is a 2003 model, you can haggle price cuz new models hit the showroom in the fall & u can pay sticker price for an "05!!!!!!!! same thing applies if they have any "04 models. i would also insure it as a recreational vehicle & then buy the ralliart gauge cluster. if they ever check mileage, swap clusters. also gives you buying power if u ever need to sell it as the buyer won't really know how many "miles" the car has.

thats kinda a dick move to do....its still wrong to do but you could at least justify doing that to a dealership or some faceless corporation because they all try to take all your money, but I think its totally wrong to trick a private buyer...how'd you like it if you bought an evo thinking it had 20k miles on it and it turned out to have 70k or something like that....I'd be furious

Does it matter how much money they get in their pocket? I hope we arent talking about money down for a finance? Why pay 600 bucks a month, when he can pay 450 a month with 10k down? Generally, the more you put down the less your payments are? Who wants to payout a car for 6 years putting 3k down?

got mine in may. looking at also picking up a 2nd evo (a blue 04 model) & the dealer doesn't want to budge on price. if you're gonna pay sticker, get the newest one they have. i advised them that since it is an 04 model, they will need to move the unit to replace it with an 05 MR that is coming in. they are using the car as a showpiece to get people to buy more stock lancers & they are telling people that they can fix up their base lancer to perform better than an evo. who's tricking who? i would save the down payment & use it for mods. of course i paid cash. avondale mitsu here in avondale, az has 2 03's left (red w/sunroof, yellow w/out). you could haggle the heck out of them. if you really want to use the $10k, GET THE MR!!!!!!!!!
