Are there any previous S4 owners around here?
Saw that there were a few other there before so please chime in. I would like to know how would you compare the performance, handling, drivablitly of the EVO compare to the s4 w/biturbo.
Anybody who has experience the S4 biturbo and are willing to comment are also welcome. thanks

Is the evo that much more balance than the S4. What is the weight distribution on the EVO?? Would you say that he was happy with the evo over the S4? What made you get the EVO instead of the S4.

FYI. I currently own an s4 and looking to trade to an evo so I know all the 411 on the S4. Would like to know if the EVO is worth the trade.

I currently drive an 01 GTI, I am waiting for the 05 EVO to come out. The reason I dont want EVO over S4 is:
EVO is faster
Handles better(best handiling car in the world)
NEW
Great price
Offers almost all the features the S4 has and some even more
German/Japanese, RELIABLE over domestic
...............and whatever else I cant remember
1) I have a 2000 and so far its problem free. I have been running the car w/ stage 2 for almost a year now. I know all the problems about turbo blowing, I took care of most of the problem spot(excpet the turbo).
2) I am in audiworld
Im thinking of the 05 as well. dont know much about the difference between the GSR(if exist in 05) and RS. I know about the MR and not really interested in that. Im looking to get the sun, fun, leather package.

My brother has a S4, its just a whole different ball game!! The S4 is definetely the best luxury/sport car out there in the years 00-02!! The EVO is like a full out rally/race car not designed for comfort like the S4 but when the S4 is chiped, its fast as hell!! I know trust me!!

RS=Base model EVO8 with NO a/c, no radio, no pwr windows/lock, stripped trunk, NO spolier, its pretty much yor TRACK CAR, NO NOTHING, a lil faster b/c of DIET
GSR= Is yor standard EVO8. Thats The one im waiting for to get with the sun, sound leather pkg. If yu want that pkg, than yu MUST get the GSR. 05 really improved over 03, 04. Heres the list:https://www.evolutionm.net/features/newsitem/75

I am chipped and that car is fast. This engine is very hard to work on compare to a 4 cylinder car. I like working on my car and being able to fix it when something goes wrong(which i cant on the S4).My main question is that will the power requirement(coming from a chipped S4) be there? How do you describe the log, dont compare to the S4 cuz there isnt any? Thanks

I went from a 1.8T GTI to a 2001 S4. Traded the S4 for an Evo. The S4 felt very heavy. The handling can't compare to the Evo. Plus, the S4 was very expensive to modify. The dual downpipes were about $1,500 vs. $250 - $650 for the Evo. I was afraid of blowing a turbo at any moment. If you mod the 2.7T, one of the K03 turbos is bound to blow at some point.
I was all about luxury. I would never even consider a Japanese car. It was only to be German/EURO and LUXURY. Once Germans thought there cars are worth so much$$$$$, I was like forget. M3 for $55k!!!! Who are they kidding or a new S4 for around $50k. Its crazy. The EVO with the fun pkg will pretty much offer everything like yor S4 minus stuff (that I asked myself WHOCARES) Power seats, one touch up/down for all 4 windows, TRIP (which I dont care about, I only like the MILES--->0) digital climate control, heated seats.......little things that dont add up that much or just dont make a difference.

I still appreciate a great looking, well modded S4 - but would not want to reverse the trade. I have had the Evo for 1 year, and it is still very fresh & exciting

del turbo and meanmud. having to drive both on a daily basis. How can you rate the difference in launching the S4 compare to the EVO. 1-10, 10 being the less effort to launch.
I basically drive in the city most of the time, stop and go traffic. Not that the car is slow but sometime you dont want to push the car from stop knowing that you will stop at the next light and all these corolla's and civic will just pass me by.

I had an S4 for a while, didnt like it.
Suspension is too luxo for my tastes, the car wiggles too much over rough roads at speed and gets the rear unsettled easily. Kinda silly for such a small car to weigh close to 4000lbs. Wind noise was obtrusive at 70+. Seats were not that supportive. Did the usual bolt ons from MTM. I was on AudiWorld all the time. The brakes were not up to par for the weight and speed capable. Just too much money to "correct" this car for more sporting tastes. On the freeway after mods it was pretty damn fast, easy to cruise at 150 for miles and miles. Fit and finish were not as good compared to it's rivals from BMW. This is something "sporty" to get your mom and just leave it stock. Overall killer for this car is its weight. It was my first foray into AWD, traded it in for a WRX, didnt like that, then got my Evo - love it. I normally mod my cars pretty quickly, but I've kept the Evo stock for over a year because its an extremely quick street car when driven properly.

I'm not a drag racer, and I don't abuse my toys, but I can nail a decent launch from time to time. Evo=3-5
S4 = 6-8
