Top speed in each gear?

Does anyone know the top speed in each gear if you shift at redline (7k rpms)?

1st: 30 mph
2nd: 59 mph
3rd: 83 mph?
4th: 110 mph?
5th: 157 mph?

Those seem pretty close to what I remember them being while driving, although I've never gone that high in 5th.

these will vary depending on whether you are talking about redline (7000) or fuel cut (75-7600). And yes, these are all stock specs.

Well, unless you get a chip that up's the fuel cut, change the tranny, or change the diffs, no amount of mods will affect the top speeds in each gear

I would have to disagree as well, airflow over the car plays a major role as well as HP when these two are looked at together... more drag needs more HP to make the same topspeed and less drag requires less HP.. also tire size will affect the topspeed of your vehicle... just going from 235 to 245 will add at least 5mph

Where and how much did you find this gear?

Thanx
Chris

I'm thinking he may mean the physical limitation of the car, due to the gearing and redline. Assuming the car has 600hp or 2000hp (never happening but...), if the gears are the same, as well as the rev limiter/fuel cut, then it'll still hit the 174 mark.

If you change your final drive, 5th gear, or rev limiter, then your top speed will have a higher LIMIT. But if you don't make the power to over come the drag (IE) then it doesn't matter what gears or rev limit increase you have. My 2 cents..

well heres the deal......the hks kansai service final drive 4.11 runs about $800.00 ..... but the good news is the that another member on this board hookt me up with som info....the ratio of the 2000 mitsubishi GALANT is the ratio of 4.111 of the evo and it fits exactly into the tranny....and the part from mitsu is only about 200.00
