Fuel Pressure Sensor Install
Hi, I'm trying to figure out where the best place is to cut the fuel line to the engine and install a T for a fuel pressure sensor (like this guy did). Could somebody post a picture where the fuel line goes into the rail? Thanks.
Well - you don't have too, but I came to a similiar conclusion. I found that both the fuel source and return lines are easily accessible, but the source line hose uses some kind of "crimp on" style connector to connect to the fuel rail (on the driver side behind the engine). It is difficult to remove unless you actually cut the hose to insert the T (which I didn't want to). Although there are some threaded connectors lower in the engine compartment where the source line goes through the firewall, those are difficult to reach and I didn't know what thread size I would need to T in. So I did end up buying a Perrin fuel rail too, just because it makes the job soo much easier.
i saw a fitting on the hyper rev n don't know if it's for fuel pressure, i will post u the pic later n see u had any idea. btw, how's the perrin fuel rail, does it make any different? i was thinking not to bother it before i do any power upgrade.

i just got a reply from japan, they said this adapter is for the fuel regulator, and they said to install a fuel pressure sensor can be rubber hose to the fuel rail then put a 3way adaptor to fit a sensor, and they have that 3way adaptor for 3000yen, no picture though...
I just finished the fuel rail install - the clips on the fuel injector plugs were a PITA, but other than that it was pretty straight forward. Looks nice, works even better

You don't have to get a whole fuel rail to have a bolt installation of a FP sensor. Pruven sells an adaptor for about $79 that just bolts onto the end of the fuel rail and has a port for a sensor. I have one but I haven't used it yet and am debating whether I really need a FP gauge.

FYI, all the Defi BF pressure senders are 1/8 PT (aka BSPT or ISO). This thread pattern is different from 1/8NPT. BSPT is 1/8-28 and 55 degree threads, NPT is 1/8-27 and 60 degree threads. I am looking into finding some adaptors for FP and OP gauges. On another note, the plug most people use for an OP gauge is BSPT 3/8-19 (the one next to the oil filter).
It seems lots of people have no problems using PT (BSPT) with NPT. They will "jam" together and the teflon tape will seal it, but its not quite proper.
I also wouldn't recommend those T fittings, if one slips out of the hose, you have gasoline spraying over hot engine parts at over 40 PSI...no thanks.

yeah, thats me...I drove Kevin's and had to have one, it made me feel like a little schoolgirl with a fresh pair of pink panties. This is the last car I'll get for a long time, my wife is due with our baby boy in April.

Ultimate racing sells a nice cnc aluminum adapter that goes between the rail and the fuel line, with a threaded hole on top.. It is around 70 bucks, and they had it to me in 2 days when i ordered mine.. Install of the sensor took less then 5 min with the adapter..
