AVC-R possability

I have a chance to buy a Apex'i AVC-R from a friend, he had it used on his WRX. I can get it VERY cheep, like 100 bucks.
So I am planing on having it installed profesionaly but do I need a harness with it? Also how easy is it to use, for those of you who have it?
Has anyone who uses it had any problems?

I was also wondering about the Apexi AVC R myself?! I have a manual boost controller but it spikes on me quite often and does not hold boost all that well so i was interested in going the electronic route, but was unsure of the AVCR as well? Any suggestions?

it is verry good if you have someone to tune it for you on a dyno!
You probably know that you can pin point every aspect of your boost controll with this! you can match it to rpm, etc
