How To: Install WeaponR custom EVO8 Catch can w/pics

Step 1: Remove the two bolts holding the strut tower brace in place. Place the catch can on top of the strut tower brace and bend the tab on the catch can under the lip of the hood. Flex it gently, you might scratch the strut tower brace but nothing bad. Reinstall the bolts. This pic shows the can installed and the first part of hose clamped on. Also, if you don't want the reflection of any scratches on the strut tower brace coming off the can, place the large sticker on the foward face prior to install.

Step 2: Locate the upper connection on the front right top of the engine and the lower connection just below the blowoff valve.

Step 3: Run the provided hose, where you would like it to be after the final install, from the left oil can connector to the one on the top of the motor and then cut leaving an extra 2 inches of hose.

Step 4: Remove the hose from the top of the engine and attach the new hose with the clamp, then run it to the catch can and connect it with the clamp. (see above image)

Image 3 shows the following: Arrow 1: new hose with clamp, arrow 2 old factory hose, arrow 3 shielding to remove and use on the hose.

Now the tough part.

Step 5: Run the remainder of the hose from the lower connection to the right side of the catch can. Cut it leaving and extra 2 inches. Remove the hose from near the BOV and attach the new hose and clamp. This is touch but the hose is firm and can be pressed on from a distance. Remove the shielding from the factory hose and place it on the new hose. Now run the hose to the catch can and connect with the final clamp. Done, 15 minutes!

I installed the same oil catch can on my evo, but I am having a bit of a problem...I have lots of mods done to the engine, new turbo, new blow off valve, intercooler, radiator....well mostly everything but the engine itself. I am a newbie at mecanic and mods so be patient with me...

My problem is that I don't have ( or can't find ) the lower hose connection below the blow off valve ( which is in a completely different place then stock btw ). So the only connection I have is from the right side of the engine block the the left side of the catch can. Before I installed the can, I used to have a little air filter attached direclty to the right side of the block, i didn't have the stock lines anymore. The lower connection is gone due to my mods, so what do I do with the right exit connection of the can ??? Will attaching that little filter there be ok ?

If you need any pics of the engine to further understand what I'm talking about, let me know and i'll take some. Thanks for any help you guys can provide !!!

I put this catch can on not too long ago and found it was a quick and easy bolt-on. Good write up.
