I didn't get new nuts, but if they are 10mm 1.5 pitch then I'll just pick up some Grade 8s this week from the local parts store -- or do these need to be special Mitsu nuts (just saw EvoSam's post about Mitsu using small head nuts?)

Az3ar, please PM me your cell number.

Thanks,
Rich

They don’t need to be from Mitsu in fact a screw from mitsu that goes on the manifold is $15 each (small screw) Go to an auto shop and get the studs and strong small screws to fit on top of the manifold and turbo(big once wont as your socket will hit the manifold from the top in the front). However, you will need the gaskets from the dealer. I have many gaskets at my home that i can give you and they are almost like new. This job is a good 4~6 hour job with Beer. I will pm you.

I just added to my Mitsu order new nuts and the gaskets/crush washers for the coolant and oil feed lines, plus new exhaust gaskets for the turbo/manifold connection and the turbo/O2 housing connection. I think I should be covered! Thanks for the offer of your stuff, Az3ar. I didn't see it until I had already placed my order with Rockville Mitsu, but the cost from them is minimal for all of this stuff. They have really good prices (as opposed to Stohlman who sells their parts for double the LIST price).

The only problem I see with this is that you end up washing your cylinders with fuel. If you pull the crank angle sensor the engine will turn but will not provide any fuel or spark. The connector is on the intake side of the engine just in from the timing belt. If you look over the back of the engine just to the left of the intake manifold you will see it below the bottom of the head.

Yeah, that's what I've done in the past to do compression tests, per the factory service manual.

I would just clean the stock one and give it a bit trim and hair cut .
While it would be difficult to attribute the power gain to any one specific component, when I put in my header, O2 housing, and lower IC pipe I noticed QUITE a difference. I have to believe that most of that came from below the turbo, not the header.
I was concerned about the bracket too, but considering Mitsu put extra support backets on everything I feel it was probably over kill. I mean serisously, does the LICP really need TWO support brackets?

Great thread - is there a decent write-up somewhere with more detail/pics?

Awesome stuff here! Have the same to do myself with obviously less expertise around ... Thanks again! Love the Search function ...

I believe I found the crank angle sensor plug...but correct me if I am wrong-

-It is on th e back left side of the valve cover on the intake side of the motor
-It is a black plug with three wires connected to it
-The plug is vertical with th e clip on top..
-I will post a picture tonight when I get home for verification

Is this the correct plug??

EVO8LTW,

Sorry to steal your post, but I also plan on doing this, and wanted to know if you or anyone else had the part numbers for the crush washers for the coolant and oil feed lines? I have searched and found the parts number thread but didnt see these listed! Any help is appriciated.

Thanks

- 2 turbine housing-to-o2 housing studs
- turbo drain tube gaskets (inlet and outlet are different gaskets)
- crush washers for oil and water lines
I know sorry for bringing back from the dead but I have a question. Im wondering which of the 2 different oil drain tube gaskets goes where!
