Which R/R is tougher: cams or hotside?
Back to the topic, from my judgement, the hotside was less tedious and less time consuming but more exhausting - I was a little sore afterwards. I took my time with cams for more $ was at risk.
My car picked up about the same power as with the cams + tune but I think that the 9.8 was locking up some of the cams potential and the 10.5 unleashed it. It gave me a more solid boost, an extra 1 - 1.5 psi in first, and contrary to some other posted results, the spool is faster too. I also suggest tightening the stock actuators tension 1/2 to 1 turn.
Also, to my surprise, the exhaust has a meaner more aggressive sound - I wasn't expecting it.
The 10.5 hotside is well worth the $ and work if you still run 9.8, especially with cams.

The Cams takes somewhere between 2 and 3 hours depending of your level of knowledge and how well you are able to orginize your hardware as you are pulling it.
The Hotside can be a Pita due to rusty screws and the heat of the parts and off course the position of the parts.
If money is not a matter I would do some Cams first. The 9.8 hotside can give you some good results in the 1/8 of mile. First and second gear are too short to notice any big difference between the 9.8 and the 10.5. On the 1/4 mile if would make a bigger difference because you are keeping the 3rd and 4th gear longer therfore you are holding the boost higer where the 10.5 shines more than the 9.8.
I think Cams will help you more, get yourself some 264/264 and you will get the most of your 9.8 hotside turbo, it will spool up so quick that you will cross the line before you even realize it.
