Defi "D" EGT Replacement Probe that works found!

Last month I made some changed to my turbo kit and when I reinstalled my EGT probe down into my O2Housing it broke. I thought I was screwed because a new EGT probe from Defi is almost as much as the entire gauge, on the parts list it showed 150.00 dollars for the probe only. At this point I was willing to give other probes a try so after some of my own research and also some help from evom members I was able to locate a probe on ebay from a vendor. You can see the link from here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EGT-P...QQcmdZViewItem) I have also included pics below but it is a normal 2wire "K" type probe that has a max heat range of 2100 deg constant temp. It comes with the probe, plenty of shielded wire and the install fittings, basically everything you need. The fittings are the same thread as the Defi fittings as well so everything fits without modification.

Next I used the old probe pigtail with plug to connect to the new probe wiring but be aware the wiring is reversed on the new sensor. The RED wire connects to the WHITE and the WHITE connects to the RED. After this was done everything worked like new.

I will be giving props to the seller because I purchased the probe on Thurs and I received it on Saturday, that’s pretty quick for ebay. If you are looking for a replacement probe for a DEFI or probably a different EGT gauge that uses a 2wire "K" type probe I would strongly recommend using this one since you know it works.

As I forgot to mention the best part, this replacement is only 39.99 + shipping!

Thanks to GTVEVO I bought this probe as well. This probe and the Team Rip work well with Defi Gauges..

One thing to be warned about is the seller on Ebay. He either ships your item lightning fast or takes 3weeks and a complaint from paypal to ship.

Team Rip Engineering = TRE, the long time and very reputable DSM / Evo transmission specialist. TRE sells EGT probes on their website www.teamrip.com and are NOT scammers.

If there is a "Team Rip" on E-Bay that is NOT affiliated with TRE, then I cannot comment about them, but if you want to buy a quality EGT probe at a very reasonable price, you can get it directly from TRE through their website above.
