Im only asking this cuase it seems like the faceplate is really stuck on there, and i dont wanna break anything. HELP PLZ! TY - Travis

it's just plastic hooks, it will pop out with a little force... just apply the force evenly!

You can't take the stock radio off without taking the face plate off. Do some searching on the forum but after taking two screws off, you have to carefully pull off the face plate. It's kinda hard to pull it off for first time but you should be able to do it.
I have Evo VIII though.

yes, I think I read a write up in the how to...there are about 4-6 plastic clips around the panel that hold it in place around the sides and top of the panel, when that panel is off then it shows the two screws that hold the radio in place.

it may be caught on the antenna wire... that's usually a shorter hookup line. Just follow the wires back from the radio with your hand and when you get to something move the wires. Also, if you put a towel between it and the dash, you can just let your radio hang by the wires... it's not going to hurt anything.

oh yeah, or you can pull the bracket right out of the back of the radio and deal with the wires separately...
