Fixing the caliper paint problem

I could have sworn I saw a thread on here a year ago saying how to reclear the brembo calipers to fix the well-known problem...I can't seem to find it anymore. So, what's the procedure to make the faded brembos look new again, and keep them looking that way?

Is there no way to fix them other than stripping and repainting? If so, how do you maintain the BREMBO logo?

i would just sand the stock clear and reclear them. If you just reclear them the logo should stay....

But won't the red still be faded? I'm not sure how much the clear helps the color...

I remember the thread you were talking about. He didn't do anything with the paint - reclearing was all that was necessary to bring the color back.

I followed the instructions in this thread, and it worked very well.

I had "pink" Brembos, but sure enough, the clear coat brought all the color back, no fade at all once done. The finish is not "showroom" quality, but it looks good enough at any distance beyond 2-3 feet. Word of caution, make sure your calipers are clean, clean, clean. If not, you'll get the dark brake dust marks sealed in and once the clear coat dries, it's there to stay.
