In dash DVD install help on a evo IX
I have a 2006 Evo IX, and I was trying to install a indash dvd player,
I have the sun and sound package, with the external amp. I bought a wireharness kit from best buy, but it does not bypass the external amp. Is there a way to manually bypass it, or is there a harness out there yet??
If you have any ideas please repsond....LOL Thanks

cant you just hook up the blue wire on the mitsu wire harness to the amp turn-on from your deck and it will use the factory external amp? Idk never see the sun and sound harness..i would imaging its just liek the GSR's?
IDK this cable looks completely different. I've installed alot of sound stuff, but I've never came across this cable before.
I think that the GSR, and the Sun and Sound GSR are different for some reason....I guess the better stero...maybe....
Please help if anyone can...

For example, Shaker and mach systems in ford, infinity systems in mitsubish, JBL systems in toyota.
They all have different wiring harness that accept a low level input from the stereo into the amp.
If you install your source, and run new wires to the output side of the amp, you will lose your sub. Also, no you cannot just turn on the amp like the old chrysler infinity systems, so please, don't point this guy in the wrong direction. If you are guessing, don't, because ****ing up car electronics can cost big $$ if not properly installed.
If you want to keep your factory sub and not rewire the amp, peripheral electronics makes an adapter for it and another company does as well. Search for the forum for the adapter.

You probably need something like this, if you want to keep the factory sub and amp.
