On with the ACD button:

Use the small screwdriver to GENTLY, VERY GENTLY pry free the ACD button from its two locking points.
Use the same screwdriver to open the button itself.
LOOK AT THE BUTTON BOX JOINTS, STUDY THEM CAREFULLY SO THAT YOU CAN KNOWINGLY GRIP IT AND OPEN IT WITH EXTREME CARE TO AVOID PROJECTING ITS INNARDS EVERYWHERE.
If it happens anyway, look at the picture to put it back correctly again.
Not surprisingly, there's a blue condom light inside.
Pull away the condom. We won't use the red film here, as there is nothing to keep it in place, and the actual purchase of its sticky side on the bulb is at least dubious.
We will use the paint marker instead.

Now put the ACD button back, taking care to insert it the correct way around: use the mirror panel for reference.

Now remove the clock. Use the small flat screwdriver to lift the tab on one side, while you push in with your fingers from the front of the panel. The clock will pop out.
You can now choose to fold in the pin marked "ILL". This disconnects the dimmer, so that the clock remains at maximum brightness even with your lights on.
To redden the clock, you can either use a single layer of film, or use red photographic filter cut in proper size.
The second is best, as the film will only make thge clok salmon pink, and not proper amber-red.
You can connect the clock to its cabling and turn the key to see if you like it.

To open the clock and modify it, lift the tabs which lock the front in place with the screwdriver, starting from one on the side.
Take care not to luse the buttons while lifting the cover: they are not fixed in place.
When done with the film or filter, reassemble the clock and put it back in place in the fake carbon panel. Take care to insert it the proper way round. The inscription on the back must be upside down. Look at the clock from the front of the panel and use the letters on the buttons to make sure is in the proper way.
Now plug the left panel and put it back, putting the upper side in under the lid of the dashboard and then pusching down and inside. Then plug the clock and hazard, turn the car on to verify everything works properly and put back the long panel, starting from the passenger side.
Put back its screws, then put back the instrument bezel, taking care to properly position the rubber flap on the steering column, and screw back the screws that fix it to the dashboard upper lid.

Light trim

Pull out the fuse panel, disconnect the plug and extract the dash light trim wheel (by now you know how to do it )
DO NOT TRY TO OPEN IT.
You can't. It's permanently assembled and you have to break it to open it.
Moreover, you don't need to open it. On it's side you'll see a round hole with a sort of black screw. If you paid attention to what you did up to now, you'll already know what's on the other side, once you rotate it 90° degrees with a screwdriver and pull it off. Exactly: a bulb with its blue condom.
Remove the condom, paint red, wait till dry, put in again, reassemble, replug.

Almost there

Now, put the stereo-HVAC panel back, put in its two screws, and but the knobs back. The stems have a rib you have to align with the corresponding groove in the knob's hole.
If you did everything properly, you shouldn't have any screws left in the box, and now your dashboard, when lit, should look something like this.

THE END
