try window tinting film at auto zone, 35%, 20% .. 5% if its really bright. its easy to do, just cut it out before laying it on.

My boost gauge is much brighter than the rest of the dash lights. The one you see where the gauge is lit up is without a flash and the dash lights are not bright enough to show up.

I might work on dimming it later, but I sort of like it being brighter because it is easier to see.

Just for anyone still wondering, as I was... You can take the innovate lc-1 wideband gauge and fit it in here pretty easily. You simply take the gauge, and clip the metal ring off:

Then take the lens off, and you are good to place it in there using the instructions above.

Comes out exactly like monochrome's picture above.

Thanks for making this great how-to!!

I just disassembled an LC-1 gauge but instead of actually clipping/cutting the metal ring as instructed above...you can just pry it from the back with a small flathead screwdriver. Makes it cleaner and also usable if you ever decide to use the housing from the gauge itself.

Just my 2 cents here. I'm going to do this install very soon and will post pictures from mine as well!

well i actually got around to doing this mod this weekend. i used the Innovate DB gauge (usually found with the LC-1)

i need to find a smoke lens of sort to bring down the intensity of the gauge. but other than that it wasnt bad at all. alot of trimming and cutting but its done and looks pretty good for now.

^^put a resistor in series with the lighting circuit to the gauge. or a led dimmer.
