Exhaust Manifold "Stud" Removal
What you are planning to do is not recommended. You are just setting yourself up for more headache. I have taken off the manifold of my car several times and have never had a problem with the studs on the head.
With the right tools, removing the studs is not much of a headache. It will only make it much easier to remove and re-install the manifold in the future. The idea is to actually avoid headache.
