Question (Request) How to setup max boost using MBC

Hi all,

I am looking for a How-to on setting your maximum boost using the Forge MBC. How you the more experienced guys are setting the MBCs?

I have a Forge MBC and am having problems finding the sweet spot for around 22PSI.

If I setup the max boost using 4 or 5 gear... I am ending with not reaching 22 PSI until 5th gear after 5000 RPMs. Which IMO is to high. So, the car will be running low boost at low gears.

If I setup max boost using 2 or 3 gear... I am ending reaching 22 PSI from 2 to 4 gear but the boost will past 22 boost after pressing 5 gear on low-to-medium load in the car. Lets say I am in the highway (5th gear) at 50 MPH and go to WOT... the car will spike past the 22PSI and stay there until the load increases. So, the car will boost to 22 PSI at low gears but then it will spike at high gears passing the 22 PSI mark.

BTW, I swapped between the soft and hard spring and getting the same results.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

finding exactly the same boost is tough even for an electronic boost controller
as long as you are flashed for it you can go to 24psi without issue
hell i have to adjust mine daily in the winter here
one night if its below 20 degrees i will spike to 26+psi

Thanks for the advice! I am trying very hard to dial the MBC to the right amount of boost but it has been an uphill task with the Forge.

I will try my friend's MBC (Hallman) and compare results.

Yeah, you'll never get the exact boost to the pound with a manual, it varies. I set mines to get an average. It spikes then drops and hold with a little boost creep in 5th gear.
