Need help removing front Brembo calipers!

Putting on crossed drilled/ slotted rotors and Ive got all the pins off except the last botton one....i cant get at it because theres the metal (brake line i take it) line that connects the front portion of the cailper to the rear portion of the caliper. Any suggestions anyone?

ok the pins and a spring plate hold the pads in the caliper. there are 2 bolts behind the caliper that hold it on...you do not need to disconnect the brakeline in this procedure.

I've got that part down.... but that wasnt the problem.... i figured it out.

needed a 10mm open end brake line wrench to disconnect the line located on the bottom portion of the brembro's

I'll put pics up to show what i was talking about

Why am I getting the feeling you took the caliper apart and not off the hub? There should be no reason to take the bridge line off if you are taking the caliper off the upright assembly.

I agree. Changing the rotors does not require the disassembling of the calipers.

Right....

Rule number 1 - never mess with something unless you reasonably know what you are doing...

I suggest reading how to do brake and rotor jobs, and for the love of puppies, before you mess something $$$ up take it to a shop or to someone who knows whats going on...

Well i like to learn as i go ....always have, I just dont see how your going to fit/ take off rotors when the front portion of the caliper needs to be taken off to do so. It works the same way with non piston cailpers

You guys keep telling me I'm wrong.......please explain so i have a better understanding

Its really difficult to write all this out...you seem to be more of a visual/hands on learner. I strongly recommend taking it over to your favorite shop (or call up a buddy that knows how to do this job (and you know he knows how to do the job)) and ask if they will walk you though the whole process. This way you (1) learn how to do it for the future. (2) The show you exactly how to do it. (3) Do the job correctly and safely (you know brakes are important to living).

There are 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the hub. Those are the only 2 bolts you need to remove. The Caliper will then slide off the rotor.
This I know to be true as I had to replace lug studs on my fronts and in order to do this you need to remove the rotor.

Just ensure that you secure the caliper to the the springs or something else to prevent it from falling and damaging your brake line.

I used some quick release cable ties to hold the caliper to the coil-over whilst I got my hands dirty down below.

Oh and btw, the 2 bolts are located behind the caliper so stick your head into the wheel well and you should see 'em.

I'd have a mechanic put those back together for you...nothing against your grease monkey skills but you over-shot the runway by quite a long way on this one.
I would also try to get hold of a copy of the Evo shop manual....it makes little things like rotor replacement very easy with half the steps and a quarter of the complexity.
