Smoked evo tail lights
there's 2 ways that i know of
one is spraying tinting spray. you get it at a hobby shop. the more you spray the darker it gets.
Pretty easy to do
remove the tail light, clean it really good and work in a dust free area. you don't want dust to land on it while drying.
Spray a few very lite coats. Then let that dry, Spray on a heavier coat. let that dry and take a look at it and see if you like the darkness of it. If it's to light then spray another coat.
when spraying your coats on make sure you do even coats. Practice on something else to get the hang of the spraying.
The other way is a Tinting vinyl.
I havn't done it but it's harder to get perfect compared to the spray. You need to worry about bubbles.
I think you can go down to a graphic shop and they probably do it for you. this way is better because you can take it off
Then again i think you can take off the paint with thinner's or something.
hope this helps

Yeah! I have a black evo, i just got it wednesday. I want to smoke out the tails and i think nd4spd had a good idea, i guess ill have mine tinted because i hear the spray fades and the last thing i want is a ghetto looking evo. There is a pic of a silver evo at a shower with nice smoked tails, looks pimp.
I did mine with the spray. I ended up removing it and re-doing it.
It is very easy to remove the spray, if you decide to remove it. You use rubbing alcohol which removes the paint from the plastic. It will leave some haze. A plastic polish will remove the haze. The whole removal process took about 5 minutes.

There is a dozen of so threads on smokingtaillights... but is there not one comprehensive post desribing how to paint the inside of the tail lights housings black.. these smoked out tails look like something out of the 1980s.. corny as hell
This is a thread on headlights but I read somewhere that this applies to tails as well and I would assume it would be the same process
EDIT: Better thread concerning headlights and taillights. This is what you are looking for: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ads-tails.html
