P0172 code and charcoal smoke after tune

Ok so just had MHI 18K and supporting mods installed and pro-tuned by TopSpeed Motorsports. I'm now getting a check engine light, checked and it's a P0172 code via AccessPort. I did notice that the Evo blows blackish/charcoal smoke when in boost, but not really during highway cruising, but it didn't worry me until now. Anyone know what could be the issue? Maybe a bad tune or too rich of a tune?

You are right, the smoke is the richness of the tune. That's not necessarily bad, depends on the mods and the tuner. I'd just call them and they will clean it up.

P0172 is rich in closed loop, fuel trims are maxed out rich. They missed the mark dialing in your injectors. Take it back..

Ok. Is it safe to drive? It's definitely faster, walked a C6 corvette today. Oh, and MPG has dropped significantly as well.

Ahh that would make sense since they installed new injectors before the tune. I emailed the shop, hopefully they will get back to me soon. 3.5 hour drive though. Ugh.

Thanks guys.

They took a long time to finish my car. But I'm not complaining because I'm stationed overseas and I told them they could take their time, also meaning to take the time to do my car right. Mike has always been super nice, and told me he would get with the tuner, Doug, regarding the issue. I'm in Bham so it's quite the commute to have to go back to fix issues. Ill post my overall experience and rate them depending on how they deal with this issue.
