LICP install without removing front bumper

I just installed an AMS Lower Intercooler Pipe (LICP) without removing my front bumper. However, I had removed the undertray so that I could install my new Buschur turbo back exhaust (TBE).

Loosen the clamps on the stock LICP at the turbo outlet pipe and at the intercooler. To remove the stock LICP bracket bolts I loosened them with a 12mm ratcheting box-end wrench. When I couldn't ratchet any further I put my long needle-nose pliers on the shank of the bolt just below the head. I gently turned the bolt until it came out. I did the same for the other stock LICP bracket.

The installation is almost reverse of the removal. Once you have the rubber flex joints on each piping connection leave the hose clamps loose. Grab the shank of the bolt with the long needle-nose pliers and gently push it past the intercooler hose. Push the bolt into the hole and open the pliers and twist. You don't have to turn the bolt backwards to get it to start. If you have problems starting the bolt with just the needle-nose pliers there is enough room to fit the 12mm ratcheting box-end wrench on the bolt head AND keep the needle-nose pliers on the shank of the bolt. If you don't use the pliers then the bolt is too loose to start in the ratcheting wrench.

I hope this helps because it sure saved me a ton of wasted time in removing and re-installation of the front bumper.

Cheers!

Well, unfortunately I added the following Buschur Stage 1 parts all at the same time: air filter kit, turbo-back 3" exhaust w/out catalytic converter + bullet race muffler, and boost gauge. The AMS LICP completed the last mod for the day. I haven't had a chance to install my walbro fuel pump, the ECU flash, or the manual boost controller + turn up the boost. I ordered a Tactrix cable so it's coming soon.

The gains are tremendous. The sounds the car makes is nothing short of amazing. I can hear everything the turbo is doing, and the Buschur exhaust sounds great! I can't believe the Buschur exhaust isn't loud as I thought it would be. *shrug*

Can I say the LICP gave me the most gains out of what I put on? No. Can I say that the LICP helped at all? Yes. Every little bit helps. Straightening the exhaust, the intake tract, enlarging pathways (within reason) ALL HELP.

Best of all, I'm happy I put the LICP on without removing the damn bumper. ahhaahha
