Grounding Kit Points - Results

Installed a 7 point grounding kit on my car last night, and the results are very positive.

Car seems to shift smoother, idle better, and throttle response when engaging 1st gear is a night and day difference. I can't tell you what a difference this made for me. I would have paid $100 or more dollars for these results. Instead I only spent $40 worth of 4 gauge battery cables at Autozone...

After the installation I also noticed that my Voltmeter didn't jump nearly as much as before. I'd dip into the 12v area before when I had huge bass, but now it hardly breaks below 14v.

Here's a layout of where I made my "connection points" - all 10mm bolts

1 - Negative Terminal on Battery
2 - Stock Grounding Wire Location on Frame, you'll see the stock wire run to the intake manifold
3 - Metal Wire Harness. Put one lead under the harness and one above.
4 - 10mm Bolt located just right of the headlight.
5 - Grounding Wire location, this 10mm bolt has a metal harness attached to it.
6 - Grounding Wire Location on Intake Manifold - Pretty obvious
7 - Tranny - One unused hole where a 10 mm bolt can be attached. - Isn't pictured but you'll see it.

2 suggestions from when I made mine:

1) Between point #2 and point #4, add a point on the alternator bracket.
2) Make a small pitgail version that goes under each of the coil packs and attaches at point #3

I sold mine to some guy on here. You can see I have a DIY with no pics in that section, Sorry!

Thanks for the suggestions EvoIXMR, I'll get on top of that sometime here in the next week.

Which bolt on the Alternator should I attach another grounding point?

And where do you attach to on the coil packs, aren't they completely surrounded by plastic?

Is there one that holds the bracket against the block? It was PITA to get to...LOL. #5 should work as well...Also, look at the mitsu kit as to where it grounds behind the alternator or it could have been this one guy who posted up that bolt also along with his grounding kit...

For coil packs, I took one bolt out that holds them out and slid the ring terminal under each coilpack, essentially sandwiching them. I used smaller ring connectors and 4 gauge making sure the ring connectors connected with the screws well. That same guy who did this proved it helped via testing somehow!

Its been a long time, so my memory fails me. Search for my name and keyword grounding and see what you can find. Him and I exchanged posts!

I daisy-chained mine, it was one long guy which went from point to point and only came of as 1. Less connectors and cleaner install - that was my reasoning!
